Book early in your planning
Speeches are generally better after the meal! If before guests are often fidgety ( and hungry) I have a speech tips document which will assist all those giving a speech plan theirs.

At the commencement of your planning set a budget, creating a list of 'must haves' and 'maybes' will help you keep to the budget.
Tell the guests what time you need them to arrive, rather than the time of the wedding.
