How Do You Find the Best Weeding Photographer for You?
You have probably noticed there are a lot of wedding photographers all trying to catch your attention, so how do you pick the right one for you?
I’d say the two most important things to consider and these are by no means the only things but one is photographic style and the other is will you get along with the photographer?
My UKBride gallery and website contain only real wedding photographs, there are no models, portfolio building day photographs or stock photographs so you can be sure that what you see is a true representation of the level of quality you will receive. Unfortunately, there are a lot of unqualified, uninsured and inexperienced photographers marketing themselves as professional photographers, often using portfolio builder courses and photographing models for their portfolios.

I am a qualified and certified member of the master photographers association which means my work has been judged and is continually judged by some of the best photographers in the UK. I am fully insured, use only professional-grade equipment with backups in place to ensure I can provide you with a first-class service.
Planning your wedding is truly one of the most exciting journeys and something I love helping my couples with. I pride myself on operating a boutique-style business which means from the moment you first contact me I am right with you every step of the way through to delivery of your photographs. I am there to offer help and advice whenever it's needed. My wife Lucy and I often find ourselves offering advice and helping couples with all aspects of their wedding, we are both always happy to help wherever we can.
Complimentary Engagement Shoot
A complimentary engagement shoot is included with my full day collection, these are a great practice run and opportunity to feel confident in front of the camera. I will take the time to explain how to get the best out of your wedding photography by offering direction and small tweaks to help you look your best. Sometimes just a few simple adjustments such as where you place your hands can make the world of difference to the finished photograph.
Your Day, Your Way
I meet couples with all different ideas of what they want, some want more emphasis on capturing naturally occurring moments whereas others prefer lots of directed photographs, many like a mix. If you book me we will discuss all the options in detail to ensure you get your wedding photographed your way. The key to photographing a wedding well is planning which is why I go to great lengths to understand my couples and what they want out of their images. The planning even covers working out the exact time the sun will set on your day to ensure we have the best chance of getting you all your dream photographs.
Wedding Photography that’s a Little Different
Many couples book me for my creative wedding photography, if you are after some really special images, I can provide you with ideas or we can discuss ideas you have and come up with something really special. If this means staying on into the evening to get you all the images you wish for then that is absolutely fine. As an example, just the other week I had a request to create a winter-themed image for a bride who loved Disney, to do this I had to make it snow for her

Top Wedding Tips
Planning is key, make sure you discuss the images you want before the wedding
Be on time, most importantly get into your dress on time to allow plenty of time to get some nice formal images while everything is in pristine condition
Take time out on the day to soak it all up, the day goes by very quickly so try to slow down and enjoy every minute of it. My couples often comment about how I caught moments they didn't know happened

The best thing we did for our wedding day was have James there to capture every moment. He was the first supplier we booked and we are so glad we did. From the first email we knew, James LOVES what he does. James doesn’t just take photographs, he creates beautiful images that capture the traditional wedding photos that you ask for and also so many memorable moments that you didn’t even notice! Not only is his work stunning, but he is just such a lovely person all around. We cannot express just how grateful we are to have had him as a part of our day. Thank you for everything!
James photographed our wedding 03/11/19.
We invited him to our house to meet him and he brought along some albums for us to preview his work and show us what he was capable of. He was very friendly, polite, and answered any questions that we had, even the silly ones!! He really knows his stuff, we were impressed. As soon as the front door closed behind him and he set off home, we messaged him saying that we wanted to go ahead and book him!!
He kept in contact with us all through the run up to the big day, and became more of a friend giving us hints and tips on how we can make the most of the service he was providing. On the big day he turned up on time (early, infact) with his assistant who was just as lovely as James.
He made 2 people that are usually very awkward infront of the camera feel so comfortable and it just felt natural. We have received our pictures and we love EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. It’s going to be so hard to pick our favourites for the album that we have ordered through him as we love them all. We have loved looking through them because most of the time we didn’t even realise he was there, sharing that special moment with us, taking some unbelievable pictures.
Everyone has commented on how our pictures are not like anything they have seen before, they are very unique, creative and they show our personality perfectly. Which is one of the reasons we went for James as he was up for trying anything and everything, whilst guiding us to get the best outcome.
