Information For Avenham and Miller Parks

From the moment you visit, you will fall in love with the beauty of the parks, offering a truly romantic setting and stunning backdrop for your ceremony and photographs.

All three of our venues within Avenham and Miller Parks are licensed for civil ceremonies. The Belvedere and Rose Pagoda are available during the Summer (April – September) and the Pavilion all year round.

The Belvedere is an ideal romantic setting. Here, classical architecture with roman arches and panoramic views, provides a remarkable setting for your ceremony and you will be able to capture many memorable photographs of your special day. You can even fly your own flag on the flagpole!

The Rose Pagoda in Miller Park is a beautiful location. Situated on a lawned area not far from the river your guests can stand or be seated; you could even hire deckchairs!

The Pavilion building designed by architect Ian McChesney reflects the sweeping lines of the beautiful Avenham Park and River Ribble, superb views of which can be gained from the Pavilion both inside and out.

It is possible to book the Pavilion as a venue for your wedding breakfast and evening reception, following your ceremony at any one of our locations.

Our packages are flexible and can be shaped to suit your specific plans for the day and, if required, the evening. They consist of any combination of: ceremony venue, private outdoor area and Pavilion room hire. We will help you create a day full of wonderful memories from start to finish for you to cherish forever.

Arrange a meeting with our Ceremony Co-ordinator to discuss your requirements. They can give you guidance on your celebrant, food and venue dressing to make your celebration special.

The enchanting and unique setting of Avenham and Miller Parks is also available for non-civil ceremonies and vow renewal ceremonies.

For Non Civil Ceremonies, the Lower Terrace at the end of Avenham Walk with its magnificent views of the river and the beautiful Japanese Garden are both available for non-civil ceremonies, in addition to the Rose Pagoda, Pavilion and Belvedere.

The possibilities are as endless as your imagination - a low key ceremony followed by a picnic, afternoon tea or favourite curry. Or something more lavish and bespoke like a horse and carriage ride through the parks before or after your ceremony, followed by prosecco and canapés, a wedding breakfast and evening reception, with venue styling!

Vow Renewal Ceremonies
Whether you are wishing to celebrate a significant anniversary, publicly declare your love to your partner or have been married abroad and wish to celebrate on your return home, Avenham and Miller Parks is the place. All civil partnerships or married couples can arrange a vow renewal ceremony at any of our venues within the parks.

Held indoors or out during the summer season - it can be a large event or an intimate gathering with your close family and friends. It is a great way to celebrate the journey you have been on as a couple declaring your love, affection and commitment to each other and bringing everyone important to you together.

Avenham and Miller Parks are stunning Victorian grade II* listed parks in the heart of Preston, providing many beautiful backdrops for your wedding day photography. Avenham and Miller Parks are open to the Public, however exclusive use is available in immediate surrounding areas for the Rose Pagoda and Belvedere and in the main room at the Pavilion and adjoining section of the Riverside Terrace. We also offer non-civil ceremonies including wedding celebration ceremonies, vow renewal and baby naming ceremonies provided by an experienced local independent celebrant. The parks offer endless opportunities for your wedding day. Our inhouse ceremony coordinator is on hand to help you create a truly special day to be remembered forever.
