I want it too be soo unquie and specail to us. But everywhere I seem to look there is our theme.

For those of you who don't know it took a good couple of months to decide on the one we have at the moment.

The theme is Buttons as that is the nickname I have for the H2B. So we thought - well if we have buttons we have everyone looking at me and my dress but at the same time everyone is looking at H2B without them knowing. It was all going to be in pastle, vintage colours.

And I thought great it will be fab, but the more I look around for ideas the more I see our wedding just been the same as soo many other peoples.

    What am I to do?

I wouldn't worry about it, you aren't doing it to follow a trend so why not incorporate something else into it. What does he call you or is there anything about yourself that could be used. Your theme could called be buttons & (insert something else here)

He calls me Boo - hence the user name been ButtonAndBoo. But can't really do much with that as the wedding is in August if it was in October could of maked it a bit hallowen but unforuntely not.

I shall have a nice hard think about it. The other ideas we had at the start where, Alice in Wonderland, Very British and the OH wanted Pokemon.

    Wake up it's a beautiful mooooorning....l

Is that it I'll be 36?

Button and boo, I think you can blame the wave of button the,ed weddings on the explosion of button bouquets...

However, bear in mind that (I'm guessing) a lot of what you see with the button theme is in Weddingy type stuff? I mean on forums etc and in magazines rather than what your friends are doing? If that is the case I wouldn't worry too much...I had a friend who wanted a space themed wedding and she was worried about the same thing...because wedding mags, forums, tv shows etc tend to pick up on the unusual.

Your day will be special and unique no matter what and I have never been to a button themed wedding.. Xx

I think you're worrying too much. It's probably because you're looking at a lot of wedding stuff at the mo, online there are millions of people so you were bound to come accross a few with the same theme. I bet none of your guests will have been to a button themed wedding though. Honestly, it's a lovely theme that is special to you so go for it and don't worry about what anyone else is doing or thinking. xx

Well I've had a nice long hug with the hubby to be and had a couple of laughs as the cat eating my birthday cake.

And then I don't know. I just felt a million times better I remembered that I marrying the man I love - I don't care if I got married in a bin bag and no one turned up I'm marrying the man I love.

So I'm stiking with my theme for better or worse.

I think maybe looking online, and in forums, you do see a lot of similarities.......BUT i bet your friends and family wont have seen any of the things you have seen.
    For instance....
My theme was vintage, my bridesmaids were all in different colours, they wore short dresses, we had a sweet buffet and I had a brooch bouquet, and decorated birdcages were our centrepieces....
All these things are really popular nowadays with a LOT of weddings we see online and in forums, yet NONE of my guests had seen any of it before, and commented on how unusual and unique my wedding was. But we as brides, trawling for ideas, see these things all the time.
So dont worry, I bet your wedding will still turn heads and people will say how unusual, beautiful and different your wedding was.

For me, the theme of the wedding should represent the couple getting married. The day is celebrating you, and it should reflect your personality. You've picked a perfect idea for the right reasons, it's personal to you both and your closest guests will get the link. That's what makes a day special. So feel proud of your theme. Other people might do buttons, but they will never do it exactly like you and never for the reason you have.

But I have also never been to a button themed wedding.

Im glad you had long cuddle and it made things look better & I have never been to a button wedding if that helps!

There is alot of things like that around when i decide on vintage, lace & pearl I hadnt heard it that much for wedding but it seems very popluar when you real and look around at things

like dawn says its about u and H2B and not the theme (although yes to me i want it to be different as well) but everyones versions and ideas of the same things are always different x

Things always feel better after a cuddle :-)

I'm not having a theme, personally I think its just another thing to get stressed over. We will likely just include some things that both of our home towns are famous for at the buffet and around the room and that will be about it really. This I prefer because his family have never been to my hometown and my family have never been to his.

We could never do that as our hometowns are always arguing with each other for what they are famous for.

We are doing it cos he's from Englanc and I'm from Ireland so its far enough apart to have no rivalry lol and they are famous for totally different stuff. His is Pork Pies and cheese and mine is famed for shovels and a long dead very famous greyhound. There was also a famous poet from my town so I might use his words somehow. Well I guess my theme is "Famous local stuff" lol :-)

Ooh intresting. You could use the poet in a speech or a little sign near your guest book or something.
