the lady who is supposed to be doing my make up on the big day is our bestmans wife, I dont know her very well but she offered to do my makeup when we announced that we were getting married as a wedding pressie. Anyway, Since she got married in May i havent heard from her and I'm seriously freaking out! I havent had a trial with her and Im panicking incase she ends up not turning up :(
Every time I get h2b to ask the bestman he says 'ill ask her when she gets home' and then we dont hear from him for a few days, when the question is then avoided! I wouldnt mind if she said she didnt want to do it now, its just the fact I dont know anyone else!
I dont think Ive got any spare money to hire someone in, and its just short notice I dont think id get someone anyway :(
I've had a bit of a go myself....what do you think? I'm really rubbish at make up so i watched a tutorial on the tube lol

I think your attempt looks very natural and very pretty. If you do it yourself I find the best way to get a flawless finish is to buy a base evener and then to secure the make up with a spray mist fixer...I bought both from rim mel and I'm sure the two cost me less than £10 and I get complemented on my make up every tone I use it. I really hope that you manage to get in touch with the girl who will be doing your make up though as I think it's one less stress on the day if someone else does it isn't it?

But, that being said, I do think your photo looks spot on if you do end up doing it yourself.x

I think your attempt is really good and very natural, just what i would like for my wedding. I'm going to do mine myself as well.
For the next two weeks put vaseline or lip balm on your lips every day so that they are nice and soft for applying lipsticks or other.
Rememebr to moisturise your face as well before you apply so your skin dosnt dry out.
MrsField2b is totally right with a mist fixer to help keep your make up on, its great for nights out too.

thanks mrsfield2b, ill look in to them :-) I really hope I'm not doing it myself :-/ but that actually took me 10 mins while watching the tutorial inbetween so hopefully wont be too stressful on the day

Thanks princess to be, ill do that too :-) my friend told me to use hairspray to hold it on haha but will get some mist fixer instead
    :-)
Glad i didnt do a bad job, i was in tears this morning thinking I was going to look like an ogre on the photos haha

I would cheekily mention it to your mua at the wedding and say "oh yeah, rememebr that time you said you were goin to do my makeup?"

No problem hun. I used the primer & fixer when I was in magaluf, despite the heat on the night, my make up still stayed in place.x

do to debenhams and ask for free advice from them and they can do a make over and show you how to do it but yes you look very pretty and natural so dont worry if you do it yourself, Perhaps just go debenhams for their free make overs to increase your confidence

Your make up looks lovely! And it is bad of her to not atleast get in touch with you! Maybe get your h2b to ask the bestman again but make sure he says that if she cant do it you dont mind, you just need to know. If you dont want to do your own make up though could you maybe get your mum or a friend to do it for you? You could have an evening together with them practicing so that you get it just how you want. This is what I'm doing with my mum as I cant afford a make up artist, and although I am good doing my own make up normally, I think nerves would get to me on the day! xxx

I think you did an amazing job, you look fab! And as some other ladies have said you can always get a bit of advice at a makeup counter to calm the nerves a bit.
As regards your best man's wife - with two weeks to go you need to find out NOW whether or not she's doing it. If you don't get a straight answer this weekend then assume you're doing it yourself ;)

Yeah, well siad madhen. You would be better just knowing, put the ball in her court and ask if she is giving you a trial. Then you know. Also, if she don't give a straight answer then you have a perfect excuse to rage at her at your wedding, lol

we've told her loads that we're not bothered at all if she doesnt want to do it but still no reply! We decided if we'd not heard from them by last night that we'll just leave it and not ask again. Im going to have to go and buy some new make up this week coming so Ill ask at a counter then!
Im not nervous about the wedding...yet...so hopefully the nerves will stay away and ill manage just fine lol
    Thanks ladies :-)

aww ziggyboo how pants to be let down like that. It'sd not right for her to hide away as afterall she got married recently and should know that a 'no' answer is better than no answer at all!. Your piccie looks fab. I'm useless with makeup and never wear it. I'd be chuffed t bits with a result like you've achieved :) xx

    aw thanks.
I know...i wish she'd just say she didnt fancy doing it but not knowing is driving me mad :-/ at least I've had a trial now, even tho i did it myself lol! her and her husband (our bestman) are 'supposed' to be staying at the venue with us the night before the wedding so i guess its just waiting now to see if she turns up.
