Ok for agggges I've been debating about where to go on Honeymoon. Haven't got a very big budget so anything too fancy is kind of out. We reckon we've got £1500 ish. It came to me last night, if we go to Paris we can go to disney world and round the beautiful capital and there is so much to do. I went on a school trip and it is such a beautiful place. Is it too much of a cliche? I'm starting to think it would be perfect! :-)

Paris would be lovely for your honeymoon. We have already said we'll go to Paris for our first year anniversary! If thats what you want to do then do it, I love Paris! x

It could be lovely but Paris on the whole is pretty pricey, so your spends could be higher than you think! I always fancied Italy for a romantic break, Tuscany looks lovely or even Sardinia is nice with all the cafes and harbour life?

Paris seems wonderful from what i've heard, it's on my "to go" list lol. If its what you'd like then why should it be a cliché?

    I say go for it!

I know its expensive but my first choice was Disneyworld Florida and when we realised we couldnt afford it I was a bit gutted, if we go to Paris then it could be dead romantic and we could go to disneyland too!We should have a decent amount of spending money on top of that. I just want to go somewhere where there is plenty to do. We saw a gorgeous Tuscan villa for quite cheap but I worry that there isnt that much to do there....whereas Paris has loads to do :-)

Only problem is, hubby isnt all that up for it. He says he doesnt like French people and we dont speak French. I said that was a terrible excuse. He may have been joking though....lol

lol my h2b says exactly same when I suggest a Paris trip!!! I think it'd be lovely, but if you can't persuade him then there's many places you can get for £1500. I got Cuba for £1650 All inclusive at a 4* hotel... I did get a discount but you can always get a discount if you ask ;)

    Here comes the bride......

Friends of mine did Paris for their minimoon as money was tight and they'd never left their little boy overnight with anyone before. So they went for 4 days, I think. They had a great time. If it's what YOU (and your H2B, obv.) want to do, then why shouldn't you?! Hx

I am getting all excited. Just found 10 days holidays plus flights (in a wee hotel that is a BW 20 kilometres from disneyland) for £630! ALL in! That would give us loads left to spend on hiring a car and doing stuff!

Oh no, now I need to convince hubby2b :-/
I could play the *I didnt get the venue I wanted cos we are skint* card....Also he wouldnt let me have my first choice of the first dance so I could use that too...is that wrong?

No, use everything you have against him and get your way lol!!

I wasn't sure about going to New York for my honeymoon, I wanted a beach! But I decided New York wouldn't be too bad and I can make my h2b feel bad about changing my mind and make him take me to Tiffanys lol!

AAHHHHHH!!!!! I'D LOVE TO GO TO TIFFANYS!!! Awww you're so lucky! Breakfast at Tiffanys is one of my favourite films. New York is on my to do before you die list!!

I have found loads of great deals in Paris so if we go to a decent (but not expensive) then we should have a good £1000 plus wedding gifts (which shall hopefully be money towards honeymoon) to spend while we are over there! I cant contain myself now. If he says no, I'll be gutted.

Try not to look at packages and see what the prices are like if you book everything separate, you should find it cheaper especially because you can look at small boutique type hotels that are gorgeous but don't charge you a bomb and easy jet flights are dirt cheap but even the euro star you can get really good deals if you keep checking the site out.
I wouldn't worry about meals either, maybe just go with bed and breakfast as you'll find going to a cafe/bistro/restaurant can work out just as cheap.
Just go through it and then compare the price to a package and see what the difference is, thats what I do anyway!
I spent 4 nights there last year and it only cost us about £250.

But with New York it worked out cheaper to do a package, booking a flight seperate through Virgin was nearly 2k just for a return flight!

Ahhhh, he is going to get brochures to look at tonight, I am so crazy excited. Going to Paris on honeymoon is going to be like a dream come true. I love the sex and the city episodes in Paris! I want to go on a boat ride on the Seine and have delicious pastries! It sounds so romantic :-)

Another bonus we've just got - a girl who scott works with has a boat and we are getting married in Loch Lomond - she says we can use her boat for photos! AND her white mustang if we want. How nice are some people! YEAY for lovely people :-)

Everything is coming together - I wasnt excited about the honeymoon as my hopes had been dashed (2 travel agents told me I wouldnt get a big amazing holiday for my budget) Now I get to go to the most romantic place in the world and disney too. I dont care what the weather is like either. So excited!

Im off to research places in France.

Now one more question, (bit like columbo lol) is there a special site to get decent prices for honeymoon suites? Do most hotels have honeymoon suites? How can you get "bumped" up? Sorry thats 3 more questions.....

Yes most hotels have honeymoon suites or at least some sort of room that they class as a honeymoon suite. I paid for a double room when I booked my honeymoon as it was way too expensive but managed to get upgraded to a deluxe honeymoon suite, which is 4 rooms up from a double. I just emailed the hotel and told them it was my honeymoon! x

My h2b wants to go to Disneyworld for our honeymoon because of our 3 year old son but I'd rather do a city trip - Paris is a good idea to combine both. Though I agree that it's rather pricey and would also love to go to Italy - so much cheaper and they are ever so child friendly.

There are loads of small hotels that are decent prices and I've found 10 day breaks with flight and hotel for £300 each!! The fancier the hotel just add on a bit more cash. Its amazing! If we manage to find a nice hotel for a decent price we will still have plenty of spending money too :-D

I am soooo excited! cant wait to get home to look through the brochures! If anyone has a good hotel tip lemme know :-)
