Lauren & Josh's Wedding Story
Lauren & Josh really set off my wedding season with a flippin' BANG!
Getting married in colourful style on our home turf of Newport. Did I fail to mention that they had their reception in the brand new Newport Market?! Their first ever wedding too! So I was even more thrilled to be a part of their day after the late venue change.
Although running in similar circles, the pair and myself had never officially met, until I received a fateful message from them saying how my relaxed colourful could be exactly what they were looking for! And after meeting them, I was sure we were a match made in heaven!
The day itself - a nice relaxed morning saw Lauren and her bridal square getting ready at home, surrounded by all their lovely nik-naks and pictures (I love a personal touch!) Before they headed off to Newport registry office for the "I dos". A surprising warm and sunny spring day gave us the opportunity to have fun with the group shots and made for a perfect excuse to embark on an adventure to the local park for some couples photos, featuring a big yellow bus for extra points!
Before the wedding, Lauren and Josh had warned me that they weren't really ones for photos and the thought the whole thing sounded like a nightmare. But after building a friendship and a very successful engagement session, the guys absolutely SMASHED all their photos! I mean, look at them!! Photographic gold right here! I'm so happy for them that they could find a comfortable place to really embrace the time together and have the photos they wanted.
(Side note! Along side all the fun, weddings can be overwhelming and stressful. Especially for those of us (myself included) suffering with anxiety or struggling with pressures or social situations. Know that you are aloud to give yourself the space needed to enjoy your day, your way. Book suppliers you can engage with and are understanding, plan additional time into your day for you to take a time out, check if your venue has a separate space where you can breathe. Just to name a couple of quick tips!)
After a swift stop in at Le Pub (best bar & music venue in Newport by the way) we hot foot it to the market to join all of Lauren & Josh's guests for pizza, drinks and speeches - myself included! And I must say the pizza was most excellent! The day continued just as it started, in a lovely relaxed and loved up vibe with plenty of cake and even more dance moves. The perfect end to a perfect day!
