Jo & Darren's Wedding Story
Our love story
We met in January 2018 - it was soon very apparent that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. After only 8 weeks together we were engaged to be married and planning our big day. What a whirlwind it’s been.
We both share a love of cricket so there was nowhere better to celebrate our special day than at the Trent Bridge Cricket Ground. It was truly magical from the planning with our wedding coordinator to celebrating our marriage there. As part of our wedding package we were offered a tasting meal, a years free membership to matches and our first year anniversary meal onsite.
We chose to have a small intimate wedding breakfast for only 30 guests shared with our closest family and friends extending to a further 90 guests in the evening, so the venue needed to be just perfect to accommodate both. We got it so right!!!!
We shared our day in the Boundary’s Edge Suite overlooking the ground. With bi-fold doors stretching the whole length of our room it was light, airy and modern with fantastic balcony’s overlooking the ground, nice leather chairs to the tables and a fab lighting system. The catering and bar staff were all very friendly, hands on and made our day flow smoothly. The food was utterly delicious and we even got to meet the chef to personalize our menu choices - there was nothing Trent Bridge couldn’t do to make our day our own!!
We were offered to have some of our pictures taken on the outfield and our names were written on the scoreboard in lights... Darren said “it’s the only time I will ever get to see my name on the scoreboard at Trent Bridge”
Once darkness took over the world famous ground we were all taken onto the outfield again to light our sparklers. Our guests made a great archway for us to run through creating some amazing pictures. Security at the ground and the duty manager looking after us that evening were spot on organizing it all and it was great fun.

From the moment we walked in to the venue as Mr and Mrs to leaving at the end of the evening we can both honestly say it was one of THE best days of our life. We cannot believe how many of our guests have said it was the best wedding they had ever been too.
