When looking for a Staffordshire wedding venue for a big day that would put them centre stage from start to finish, space and style were high on Jenny & Lorna’s checklist – and they found both at The Boat House at Aston Marina, near Stone, as Jenny explains:
“It was everything we were looking for, one open room with great lighting and beautiful grounds surrounding it. It was perfect for our celebration party. When viewing the venue it gave us that immediate feeling that is was our venue.”
When it came to the theme, all-out glamour was the order of the day, with 75 friends and family witnessing the couple say their vows in a moving civil ceremony, with Lorna’s dad Roger walking her down the aisle and Jenny’s son Jack proudly accompanying his mum to an instrumental version of ‘Beneath your Beautiful’ by Labrinth.
The Boat House’s dramatic lighting and views provided the perfect backdrop to the couple’s glamorous day, with Bib & Tucker Photography capturing the mood. With the formalities of the ceremony over, celebrations continued with a relaxed and informal theme; rather than a sit-down meal, canapés were served as guests enjoyed the Boat House’s landscaped grounds. A real talking point was the unique favours in the form of white sunglasses bearing the couple’s initials – a nod to their joint love of sunglasses and the Ibiza party to follow.
As day turned to evening, a further thirty guests joined the wedding party for the evening reception; the laid-back vibe continuing with a barbeque replacing the traditional wedding buffet. As the evening progressed, Jenny & Lorna’s playlist of Ibiza classics combined with live saxophonist Ben Smith performing among the guests ensured the dance floor was packed – a sea of white sunglasses dancing the night away on the night Ibiza came to Stone, Staffordshire!
