The Real Wedding of James & Becky

James & Becky's Wedding Story

Our first experience at Haughley Park Barn was simply epic! When the big day finally rolled around it was warm and dry but thankfully not scorching. The grounds were not quite the green and pleasant land that we saw earlier in the summer but Haughley has so much to offer and still looked stunning. When we arrived at the farmhouse, everyone was chilling around the huge dining table, giggling away, excited for the day ahead.
Becky chose to have simple hollywood curls with a stunning veil and wow did she look sensational! Her bridesmaids and Dad got the first look experience and judging their reactions, we had a feeling there might some happy tears when she walked down that isle! We aren’t ashamed to admit we almost cried when we saw the dress it was so beautiful.

After a smooth flowing morning, it was time to head over to the barn. Inside, it was romantic, elegant and intimate. Guests were seated ready with eager anticipation and as the bridal party entered, the room was awash with adoration. James looked like the happiest man on the planet.
After some heartfelt readings and a beautiful ceremony the happy couple were official! As guests made their way to the lawn outside the barn, Becky and James had a few minutes to themselves to breath and be alone. We welcomed them out with a confetti shower and kicked off the afternoon celebrations. We placed our family portraits close to barn where there was still some fresh looking greenery. It made for a stunning backdrop in the absence of luscious grass! Whilst we captured those essential family shots, guests played croquet and relaxed together, enjoying the mid week break.

While guests were getting seated we stole the bride and groom away for a few quick photos. This is the perfect time as it gives our couples a little more privacy and a little breather before the next round of events. Becky and James were absolute naturals and we got some beautiful shots before sending them in for the speeches and their exquisite meal.
A question we frequently get asked by our couples, is whether they should pay for us to have a meal on the day. Becky and James were so incredibly lovely and included for us to have a main meal each. This honestly makes a massive difference to us. We shoot for 9 hours on our feet with seriously heavy equipment and we are on constant high alert so that we don’t miss a moment. A break with some hot food is magical to us! So we are forever grateful when our couples organise food as there is usually no other way for us to get a hot meal.
Having sampled the mains, we can assure you that the menu at Haughley Park Barn will not disappoint! The team were lovely, very efficient and the food delicious. Something massively important to note for those foodies looking for a venue that will deliver not only in the facilities and grounds but in the meal which is so important.

Becky and James rocked another round of photos after dinner and we headed round to the farmhouse to get a large group shot from one of the bedroom windows. This was a great place for a small crowd and helped with the evening turnaround. As the evening guests rolled in, we took more candids and captured the all important cake cutting and first dance. It was a beautiful evening.
In short, the day was pretty magical. The suppliers we worked with were all amazing. The bride and her bride squad all looked sensational, the flowers were stunning, the cake looked mouthwateringly good and the team at Haughley were brilliant. We very much hope to be back there again next year!
