The Real Wedding of Joe & Kirstie

Joe & Kirstie's Wedding Story

We first met Joe and Kirstie in 2019 whilst we were shooting their family members wedding. They loved our work and had already seen us in action so when Joe popped the question, they got in touch. When they came to visit the studio, we realised pretty quickly they were our sort of people! That first meeting went on late into the evening. Conversation flowed and there was plenty of laughter! So when they asked us to be their wedding photographers we were absolutely buzzing! The fact that their wedding was being set at Bruisyard Hall, was the cherry on top!

When the day rolled around it was beautifully warm and bright. The girls were super chill whilst getting ready and we had the pleasure of working with the fabulous C&K Studios. Chris and Kelly are kind, easy going and of course very talented videographers. As the ceremony time approached, Kirstie’s Dad arrived at the room to collect her. It was an emotional moment, she looked sensational and we all struggled to keep the tears at bay! When everyone regained their composure, they set off, walking through the immaculate grounds, over the sweetest little bridge and down to the barn. We love the diversity of Bruisyard Hall. The rooms at the house are light, airy and spacious making them ideal for the morning shots whilst the ceremony barn is warm, inviting and intimate.

After a beautiful ceremony Mr and Mrs Weston walked out elatedly. They kicked off the afternoon celebrations walking through a confetti aisle in the courtyard and headed to the lawn to greet their guests. They kept formal photos to a minimum, which gave them plenty of time to relax with their loved ones and it made for the perfect afternoon. Whilst their guests were being seated, we stole them away for a few minutes to have some photos before their meal. As expected, they rocked it.
We enjoyed a beautiful meal and then set up ready for the speeches. This is actually one of our favourite parts of the day. Particularly when they are humorous and from the heart! Which they were! We definitely captured Joe crying with laughter, listening to his brother’s speech! Did we mention Joe had two best men?!

After the dramatic and hilarious speeches we whisked our beautiful couple away for some portraits in the warm evening light. These two are just so easy to work with. They trust our creativity and are totally up for anything so we dragged them to some derelict areas for some quirky urban shots. We laughed as we worked, having the time of our lives and capturing some epic images. We even got the bridesmaids and best men involved with some smoke bombs! These are not for the faint hearted! Despite reading all the safety warnings and following instructions, as we were taking the shots Amy somehow burnt her chest when something fell off the tube! Of course Lacey captured this moment and no doubt Kirstie and Joe are going to frame it to commend her commitment to her bridesmaid role! Amy – we love you! You’re a legend!

What really stood out about this venue, was how well everyone was treated by their staff. The team was so organised and incredibly kind and polite. By the end of the wedding breakfast, the day had gone so smoothly it was actually running ahead of schedule! Joe and Kirstie had the best day and so did we. 10/10 from us ????
