In our increasingly self-service economy, many people’s default option is to book holidays for themselves - either through a tour operator’s website or by researching and purchasing the individual elements of a trip online. But there are several advantages to using a personal travel consultant like me when you’re planning your honeymoon.
1. YOU CAN SPEAK TO SOMEONE WHO KNOWS THEIR STUFF.
If there’s a problem, if it’s a complicated itinerary or you’re just looking for guidance on a destination, it’s great to talk to someone who’s an expert. You might find a wonderful holiday deal online and book it - but when you arrive you realise it’s hurricane season/raining/too hot. Some travel sites are now using chatbots to try to plug this gap - but this is no substitute for a knowledgeable human being when you’re looking for intelligent advice.
2. NOTHING TRUMPS PERSONAL SERVICE.
My role is to listen carefully to what you’re looking for from your holiday, to make suggestions and then choose the right supplier (of the 300+ that I work with) to brief. And to make sure you get the holiday that you’re hoping for at a price that you want to pay. And then I’ll look after you until the day you come home. Sometimes, left-field suggestions can enhance even the most specific of briefs. As an avid traveller, I’m constantly visiting new places, and I can use my past experiences to recommend destinations I think you'd enjoy if you need inspiration.
3. YOU CAN SAVE TIME AND AGGRAVATION.
Looking online for a holiday is very time-consuming. Deciding where (and when) to go, researching what there is to do in the area and if it’s safe, finding the right hotel, securing the right price, which airline, how to get visas, how to get to the airport, how to get to the hotel when you land, what vaccinations you’ll need etc. etc. It’s stressful, and by the time you’ve finished booking your holiday you really do need one! You're already organising a wedding - let me take care of your honeymoon.
4. YOU'RE PROTECTED.
Whilst you can often find great deals online, you do have to be careful that the company that you book with has ABTA and ATOL protection should the worst happen. If the company goes bust, you will lose your holiday and the money you paid for it. Booking with a travel agent that uses reputable suppliers is a great advantage, and importantly they will also have ABTA protection so if anything happens you are covered.

My partner and I have just completed the booking for the ‘trip of a lifetime’ - a six week trip to South East Asia. Sue has taken care of arranging the itinerary for us and has provided us with what looks like an amazing holiday to include all the best sights and experiences of the area. I contacted Sue to support us on our first trip to the Maldives. It wasn’t an easy process as we wanted to go in six weeks at the time of booking. We were overwhelmed with the choice but had decided that we wanted a house reef and a speedboat transfer, we also had a budget to include BC flights. Sue did the leg work, used her connections and came back with 3 possible resorts. She was able to advise on things we hadn’t even thought about which helped tailor our decision making. The result was a holiday of a lifetime that we will never ever forget. We were so pleased with her service we have already booked with her again and I would highly recommend Sue to anyone planning a holiday.

Sue helped us find a dream holiday for a big girls trip. She was on hand to answer questions and find something that fitted what we all wanted. I recommend Sue if you want someone else to do all the hard work for you and take the stress away! We went to La flora in Khao Lak, Thailand. Great hotel, beautiful location, wonderful people. Thailand was amazing and everyone we met was friendly and helpful. The beaches were stunning and the food was delicious. Our hotel was right on the beach in a perfect location near lots of restaurants and shops.
Highly recommend Sue and La Flora in Khao Lak!!
