We are Richard and Helen Mitchell, a husband-and-wife team with a passion for creating stunning wedding videos from the air and ground.

Back in 2018, Richard set up Drone Support Services, following his new-found passion for drone flying, and discovering the incredible aerial photography and films that could be created from it. After completing projects for the likes of Peterborough United Football Club, Princes Foods and South Holland District Council, as well as weddings and community projects, the natural progression was to combine aerial media with ground-based media to offer a complete package of services all under one umbrella. Media Support Services was born.

As our business has expanded, so has the range of services we offer, such as business promotional videos, commercial and private property filming, equestrian and sports event filming, and much more.

Our fleet of DJI Mavic aircraft have the latest 4K camera technology, enabling us to capture stunning photographs and video from unreachable vantage points, giving you views to the horizon in fantastic clarity. The Mavic 2 Zoom is our flagship drone and enables us to shoot footage from a height of 400 feet and 1600 feet away from the operator. This versatile aircraft is perfect for all kinds of scenarios. We also have our Mavic Mini, which is great for those more intimate occasions, as well as being the ideal tool for indoor footage from a different perspective.

We also use 4k ground?based cameras, 4k sports action cameras and 4k hand-held gimbals, which enable us to capture up-close and smooth footage without the intrusiveness of a larger camera.

Not everyone can fly these drones, and it is not a case of all the gear, no idea with us! Before investing in our equipment, we invested in the right qualifications. We have Permission to Fly for Commercial Operations (which has now transitioned to Operational Authorisation – OA), awarded by the Civil Aviation Authority (the CAA), and we are proud to be a certified Gold Member of the Drone Safe Register. We have Public Liability Insurance up to £5 million, along with all the necessary legal requirements for professional aerial video filming, giving you peace of mind that your pilot is a fully qualified professional.

Over the years, Richard has worked extensively with young people, and those with learning difficulties, and holds an Enhanced DBS Certificate.

What happens when the footage has been captured? Well, this is where Helen comes into the frame. From the first point of contact, Helen works with each client to understand what they want to achieve. She will draft ideas and carry out research to come up with the perfect solution for your project, liaising with you every step of the way. Flight plans and schedules are then created for your approval, to make sure everything runs smoothly on the day. Once the footage has been captured, Helen will get to work on the production, editing the footage into a finished product that you can be proud to share.

Our professional team works to your bespoke specifications to capture all those special moments, from pre-wedding preparations, arrival at the wedding venue, the ceremony & departure, through to the post-wedding celebrations, speeches and evening events. We specialise in capturing those ‘natural’ shots for prosperity: the unexpected wedding moments, human reactions, the love, tears of joy and laughter, all filmed from unusual and creative angles that make our footage really stand out from the crowd. Our aerial photography, videography and editing will make your day look even more special with shots from angles that a standard wedding photographer can only marvel at. Using our range of gimbals we can take fluid ‘walk-through’ shots, as our fully trained camera crew film those all-important ground-based details. These smaller, handheld devices allow us to get right up close to the action, without being intrusive. At the start of the journey, we discuss personal requirements and create a ‘wish list’ of moments they want to capture. This is developed into a filming schedule to ensure that we have literally ‘all angles covered’. We provide films of the full ceremony, full speeches, highlights package with music and extended highlights package with music and extra footage from your special day. We supply files online and on USB sticks, and can provide extra USBs and DVDs too.

We like to get to know the Bride & Groom a little before the big day, to reduce nerves on the big day! We also enquire about friends and family, so we can put everyone at ease as much as possible.

We work with our couples to pull together a detailed production plan for the day, so we capture everything and everyone who is important to them, as well as the bits they don't see on the day.

We highly recommend capturing the morning preparations for both the Bridal and Groom's parties. So many of our couples get really emotional when they see each the day through each other's eyes.
