Information For The Thatch Barn

The renovation of this magnificent Grade II listed, thatched barn in the heart of the Cambridgeshire countryside, was completed in 2013 and we now offer tradition, tranquility and a totally unique venue for your wedding reception.

The barn itself is beautiful with original 400 year old oak beams spanning the width of the building and emphasising the enormous vaulted, beamed roof.

The glazed oak entrance allows light to flood in whilst the slotted windows are all subtly glazed. We have even had a bar built from timbers taken from the roof that needed replacing!

To top it all the stunning thatched roof, which keeps the barn cool in the summer, makes this a truly magical venue.

Set on a working farm, the Heritage award winning barn is situated beside crops of wheat, beans, lavender, wild flowers and daffodils, all providing a splendid backdrop for photographs, depending on the time of year you visit.

Seating up to 100 people for a wedding breakfast and then up to 120 including evening guests. Traditional barn with modern facilities. The barn is made available to you the day before the wedding, to enable you to set up at your own pace. We approach all our weddings professionally but in a casual manner! Choice of 2 in house caterers offering exceptional quality and value for money. We are fortunate to have a church opposite the barn which can be made available for couples to marry in. We had our Wedding here on 19th October. The Venue and Staff were absolutely fabulous. Nothing was to much trouble and they made the whole thing easy for our special day. To be honest if we had gone anywhere else we would have missed out. Everybody that attended had nothing but praise and compliments from the minute they walked through the door to second they left. "Do yourself a favour, and don't go anywhere else." This coupled with The Holy Cross Church opposite is a match made in heaven.

Fairytale experience
Having a celebration at The Thatch Barn made our wedding day absolutely magical! We were determined to get married and in these challenging times, Sanchia came to rescue, helping us plan a COVID secure wedding. All guests felt safe, we had a fabulous time and a true fairytale experience! We will definitely go back for other events!

Idyllic venue
We got married on 31st July 2021 at the Holy Cross Church and then walked across to The Thatch Barn. From the start we felt listened to, there was no question that was too silly, too big or too small. Sanchia was great at every point of the way when planning our wedding and on our actual wedding day. Everyone we spoke to on the day and ever since has raved about how idyllic the venue and setting was. We would absolutely recommend this venue and Sanchia and her team to any and everyone.
