Hidden down our iconic tree lined avenue discover The Oaksmere, our beautifully appointed Grade II Listed Manor House is situated within 17 acres of rural Suffolk parkland.
From Intimate Weddings in The Aviary to larger parties in our Traditional Wedding Marquee, The Oaksmere provides a picturesque and tranquil setting for celebrations of all sizes.
The Oaksmere is fully licensed for civil ceremonies, seven days a week and we offer a wide choice of locations in which you can hold your wedding ceremony, come rain or come shine!
We have 14 bedrooms situated in our Main Hotel and Coach House allowing your guests to relax, unwind and party the night away!
Provenance is at the heart of everything we do; our Victorian Walled Garden is at the heart of all of our menus, local and homegrown produce is expertly prepared by our Executive Chef and his team.
Our experienced wedding planners and banqueting team are on hand throughout, from planning the finer details, offering styling advice and coordinating on the day itself – let us take you on your unforgettable wedding journey.

With over 10 years wedding planning experience and having worked at some prestigious venues across the UK, myself and the team are here to help you every step of the way. The Oaksmere is a very flexible venue with spaces got suite every group size, not to mention an endless choice of photo locations within our grounds. We Loved Every Minute
The Oaksmere was the perfect venue for us and working with Honor to plan our wedding was a breeze. From the moment we viewed the Oaksmere, we knew it was the venue for us. The opportunity to use the hotel and exclusive use of three event rooms for the whole weekend was ideal. We used the beautiful Aviary for our ceremony and wedding breakfast, the Gun Room for our drinks reception and the Chefs Pantry for dancing, but the space is really flexible to use how you wish. Each room is full of character. Honor and her team are really flexible and willing to accommodate as much as possible so that your wedding can be everything you want it to be, often going above and beyond and nothing is too much trouble. We certainly felt that we had our own bespoke and personal event, rather than a 'standard' wedding format that some of the larger hotels churn out. Honor was so helpful in the planning of our wedding and had loads of ideas and supplier contacts from her experience in events planning. We planned our wedding in less than 3 months and Honor helped ensure this was a smooth process. There was a wide range of menu and drinks packages to choose from, but again, the Oaksmere were willing to be flexible on this. The food was really good quality. The accommodation rooms in the hotel are beautiful and Patterson Suite was perfect as a bridal suite. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and make the perfect setting for pictures. We had a January wedding, but still make use of grounds for photos. All of our guests have said how much they loved this venue and we did too.

At the end of Oct. I went to the Oaksmere for my Son's Wedding. It was a glorious time that everyone thoroughly enjoyed, which was down to the wonderful Manager and staff working tirelessly for our comfort. The food was excellent, and plenty of it. We all stayed overnight, the rooms were so comfortable, clean and all round...Perfect. A thoroughly good time was had by all. My Congratulations to the fantastic Manager, and my grateful thanks..

We held our wedding at The Oaksmere at the end of October. The manager Matt was fantastic, helpful and efficient after we had experienced a rocky start due to change of staff/management. Matt went above and beyond to make our day perfect. He and his team were exceptional in all the planning , setting up for the wedding, serving food and drinks etc. The food was delicious.. All guests stayed overnight and were all happy with their rooms. We can not fault a thing. All in all a very enjoyable weekend with five star service and food. Thank you to the Oaksmere team. Would highly recommend!

An excellent facility & location with perfect organisation
My daughter had her wedding at The Oaksmere on the 21st January 2023. A small wedding party of 30 with 45 in the evening. This facility was 100% ideal. The small closely located function rooms made it feel so atmospheric & inclusive. Some guests stayed the night before & just about all stayed the night after. The food on all three days was excellent. Staying there was ideal for pre & post wedding socialising. The rooms were of a high standard. Honor, the wedding planner, while being discreet did an excellent job. Always on hand to help, do or find out. For a wedding of this size, I really do not think a better venue & location could be found in this area. While I did not pay for the wedding, what I did pay for, room, meals & drink, the prices were very, very reasonable.
