The Barn is an immaculately preserved 16th Century Grade II listed timber building nestled on the outskirts of Great Tey, Essex. It combines the aged tradition of the British countryside with the flair of modern design and is one of the largest thatched barns in the United Kingdom. With over 20 years experience in weddings, events and fine dining between them, Julia and Natalie will look after you from your initial viewing to your big day. The bonus of having two planners is that one of them will always be on hand to assist you.

Decide on your first kiss! who is going left who is going right? will it be a little peck or a lip smacker!
Try not to stress - enjoy every second - it will fly by!
Make a copy of speeches and music and leave with your venue. That way if your speech gets left behind or the ipod wont play there is always a back up.

We just wanted to extend a big thank you to the entire team that made our day so magical on Sunday. Every single member of staff was amazing, ensuring all our guests were comfortable and that we had everything that we needed! We thought that the day would go well, but it definitely exceeded our expectations, the venue, the food and the atmosphere were all exceptional.
Please pass on our thank you to the chefs, the waiters and the front of house, as well as you both for helping us to plan the event, and to Natalie (hopefully we got the right name!) for ensuring everything went smoothly on the day.
We would definitely recommend The Barn to our friends and family looking to host events in the future, or even just a dinner out. And we will definitely be back again in the near future.

Where do I start, wow! We finally had our big day after all this time and postponing.
You and your team delivered such an amazing day! Every guest has commented how smoothly you all served food and drink, you were especially organised, nobody went without and they & us can not fault you in any way possible.
If anything went wrong on the day it was not shown and we have no clue - everything was just perfect in our eyes!
The venue looked stunning and thank you to you and the owner for the lights, they just completed the look nicely and it was really kind of you to offer them.
I also just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for juggling childcare to be there on our day and also specially as it was also your wedding anniversary, we are so grateful for this.
The DJ was perfect, they had everyone on the dancefloor all evening and the music was flowing - I have just sent them a separate email to thank them as well.
If you haven't gathered already we had an amazing day and can not thank you all enough - I wish we could do it all over again (taking out the covid postponements) however, we'll just have to wait for our photographers photos which we will send over to you to use (if you would like to)
We will hopefully see you soon when we book in for dinner and it would be lovely to catch up properly

Your venue is so beautiful and the day was fantastic!
It was the hottest day in history and yet all your staff worked incredibly hard to help us stay comfortable and happy. They were eager to bring us extra tea, coffee and water and stayed so very cheerful throughout. All our guest’s commented on how lovely and respectful your staff were.
