The Nave is equipped with a laser projector, sound system & microphones, uplighters, and an upright piano. High ceilings, original arches, a stained glass window and fascinating history provide a wonderful atmosphere. The Bedouin Tent is woven from goats hair, and built on principles of sacred geometry, it is a harmonious space where people can meet as equals. It’s perfect for dialogue, workshops, meetings and away days, baby showers, bridal showers and proposals! The nave is 6.6m x 25m, not including the annexe. Standing reception – max 120 people. Theatre style (chairs facing front altar) – max 85. Informal style facing presentation wall (chairs in semi-circular rows) – max 85 people. U-shaped with tables – 18ppl The tent is circular with cushioned bench seating around the edge. Capacity inside 25 people. There are no tables in the tent and people are asked to remove their shoes before entering. The nave is a beautiful and peaceful space for a wide range of events Preparation and clear-up needs to be included within the booked time. St. Ethelburga’s cannot store tables and chairs (or other large items) on-site unless booking the space for the duration of storage. After a career in hospitality Ioannis joined St Ethelburga’s as office manager. He is now considered Wizard of All Things, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for visitors and staff alike. He recently trained as a book-keeper, and currently manages the building, venue hire, and book-keeping. He loves people and is a passionate chef… the Greek lunches sometimes found being gobbled by Centre staff can be traced back to Ioannis! He is very outgoing, loves people and creates a warm, welcoming and hospitable atmosphere.
