Information For New House Farm
New House Farm situated in the stunning Lorton valley and surrounded by the Lakeland Fells is that unique and special place.
Originally built in 1650, New House Farm has retained many of its original features but combines them with a touch of elegance and sophistication to create an atmosphere of a bygone era. Sitting rooms with open log fires, individually designed bedrooms with heavenly beds, delicious duvets and wonderful changing views go to create this unique private venue. The secluded gardens, babbling brooks, enchanting pond and stunning Lake District scenery add the finishing touches to a fairytale wedding and provide the perfect backdrop for memorable romantic photographs.
The wedding receptions are held in The Hayloft of an original Lakeland barn which has been restored to the highest standards with traditional materials. Bright and airy with a graceful combination of rustic chic and modern facilities the oak beams are offset by the natural exposed stone walls.
New House Farm is a perfect location for your winter wedding. Surrounded by stunning scenery, rolling hills that go on for miles, what better setting could you ask for of crisp snow topped mountains and glistening waters. Our winter weddings run from November until mid March, at a reduced costing.
For smaller weddings we offer a mid week wedding package which is available at a reduced cost. You will have access to the barn from Sunday Afternoon until your special day to decorate how you please.
For intimate weddings with up to 20 of your closest family and friends, our licensed room within our country house will create the perfect backdrop for your special day. This can be tailored to suit every couple, from traditional to a more relaxed informal style.Timings for your Wedding can be from as early in the day as you like until Midnight when the bar and music will close in accordance with our licensing permission.
Carriages are suggested at 12.10 a.m.

Wonderful venue. Location difficult to get to but definitely worth the effort..lots of parking and great taxi service.
The ceremony was special, food was wonderful.
Lots of space. We had a separate room to move to while the main room was reorganised throughout the day
Great chararacter features. Open fire, stone floors downstairs
Would definitely recommend.

Where do we begin to review Hazel and New House Farm. To first review New House, it is a beautiful venue, the barn is perfect for a wedding and the grounds are stunning. The rooms are beautiful and luxurious and breakfast was delicious. Even having little Paws (the dog) potter about added to the charm of the venue.
However, all this wouldn’t be as amazing if Hazel and her team were not running it. Hazel is a real life fairy godmother. When we came to New House, we were completely clueless about what to do and how it was done. Hazel guided us on the usual timings and processes of a wedding day and gave us many, many, many tips and contacts which we really needed.
Hazel went above and beyond to help make our day exactly what we wanted, from our first time meeting right through the actual day and until we left. She was an integral part of our wedding planning and ourselves and our families could not have asked for more.
We wholeheartedly recommend New House to any couple who want a stunning country wedding. The service was 11 out of 10 and you would be very lucky to have your wedding there. We will certainly be going back for years to come. It is a truly special place.
A massive thanks from the Holmes
