Stayed here for two nights for my friends wedding, and I still have to pinch myself when I think back to it. The grounds are beautiful -- and had an amazing time with everyone! The owners treated us so well and so happy we could experience a bit of royalty while visiting!

Couldn't have picked a better wedding venue!
On June 7th 2019, my daughter was married at Duns Castle. We arrived on Wednesday, June 5th with 40 guests from the United States. Upon arrival we were STUNNED with the beauty of the castle, the grounds, the charming cows and lovely appointed rooms. It was even better than the pictures. Along with the castle, we took over 4 cottages on the grounds for 3 nights with our guests. The cottages were equally charming and allowed our guests to explore the grounds and lake. We hosted a welcome dinner on Wednesday night and Mr. Hay was kind enough to arrange a small marquee outside. The true gem of the castle are it's people. Lorraine and Louis started us off with cocktails served with wit and humor. They continued to be at our service along with Regina throughout our stay and made all of our guests feel that they were among friends. They were beyond accommodating to my daughter and myself. Andrea coordinated everything with my daughter while we planned the wedding from the States. We simply could not have done it without her! She answered every question, sent pictures, put us in contact with many wonderful vendors and gave us complete guidance all while being so very kind. Talk about hands on, Mrs. Hay even fluffed my daughter's veil before she walked down the aisle in the magnificent drawing room, and was always there to make sure her home was shone it's best light. The ground crew, both men and women, were so friendly and helpful. The experience in this beautiful castle and it's grounds was pure magic. I would HIGHLY recommend it for your event or wedding day, and secretly am hoping perhaps one of my other children will repeat the experience at Duns.

I married the woman of my dreams at Duns Castle on May 16 of this year. Our party, 18 in number, flew from the United States for a three day stay. We cannot even begin to describe the experience. We will never forget our time spent there.
In early preparation, our contact at the castle, Andrea, suffered a myriad of emails, but came through with all of our provisions. Her recommendations were 100% on target. Follow her advice.
We cannot say enough about our hosts Mr. and Mrs. Hay. They were interesting, delightful, and there to help with anything we needed. We give them a hundred stars - out of 50. We plan to return for our anniversary next year, with more wine to share.
Do yourself and your partner and wedding guests a favor-go to Duns. It is truly magic.

Perfect Destination

We flew our closest friends and family in from the U.S. and stayed at Duns Castle for a week with the wedding ceremony at the tail end of our stay. It was a fantastic adventure to bond our families together and show them everything there is to love about Scotland. My wife and I attended the University of Edinburgh for our MS degrees and fell in love with Scotland with all its serene castles and picturesque landscapes. Knowing we wanted to marry in Scotland we took several years to plan our perfect wedding at the most beautiful castle we could find. Duns was superb in every way providing excellent accommodation, handling all our requests and suggesting various services to help our wedding and entire stay to be magical.

Fairy Tale Wedding

I recently got married at Duns Castle and had a perfect wedding and a beautiful time. I searched for a while to find the right spot, because I wanted an exclusive location that wasn't too hard to get to, had some history, and would accommodate my crazy family and friends. And Duns is perfect!!! It is even more stunning than the photos in person, if you can believe it, and the décor is simply gorgeous. You really feel as if you're staying in a historic castle and everything is beautifully maintained. We rented out the castle for a Friday/Saturday night, booked all the cottages, and had some people stay at the inn at Duns. Friday night was Kilt & Casino night in the drawing room, the company that came to the castle did an amazing job. To do dinner easily, we picked up sandwiches and pastries from the bakery in town. I also used the local florist Scentiments and I cannot recommend them enough.. On the big day, we did skeet shooting with Stuart Elworthy. We got married in the drawing room by the Scottish Registrar, and Aline perfectly arranged the room so my mother could play the grand piano as my entrance. We had Regis Catering do our dinner and I was told my multiple people it was the best catered meal they've had at a wedding. Lorraine Ross, our photographer, got some beautiful shots of us atthe lake. I had a 2 person band setup outside the dining room next to the bar and Aline arranged speakers outside for everyone to enjoy. Alot of detail, but I arranged everything by email and phone and it went perfectly. Long story short, if you want to have a beautiful wedding in a Scottish Castle, I very much recommend this venue
