    So I'm in a pickle!

I have been trying to track down a stunning dress that I found a picture of on the internet. My bridesmaid found it in ONE shop in the country!!! Winner! So we went to try it on and its gorgeous!!! I absolutely love it!
    But....
It's darker than I had thought I would go for, its got a bit of a goldy/creamy tinge to it, so it isnt ivory.
Im getting married abroad outside, so my theme was going to be multi-coloured flowers and aqua bridesmaids, groomsmen in ivory and aqua.
Now I cant have that!!! The blue would not go with my dress at all, all colour spectrums say it should be 'warm' colours. Also I dont feel that multi-coloured would go either. Probably burnt orange or a coral?

My question is...would you change your ideas of theme and colour scheme and flowers, including what everyone will be wearing because you have found the dress you really want???

It depends if you already have stuff in those colours, if you do I would personally say I wouldn't change things now to fit in with colours of the dress, but if you haven't actually got anything in those colours, then i'd say it's not too late to change them. But again, it's your wedding so it's up to you what you do, it's just my personal opinion xxx

I would, as long as I hadn't bought loads of stuff yet. If youre only in the ideas stage, then that wouldn't be a problem as ideas tend to change :)

blue's not always a cold colour though. I did our bathroom, years ago, in blue and it was a lovely warm colour.

Your choice - and whatever you choose will be good :).. mind I think we all have hissy fits now and then about colours - I'm panicking that my bridesmaid dresses are the wrong kind of style to go with my dress - but too late now and I'm sure it'll be ok..

I would go with what you want. If you don't have anything ordered yet in the original colours that you wanted then think about what you really want. If the dress is really the one you want then it might be the deciding factor. All in all it is what you want not what someone else thinks you should have xx

Personally I think aqua is quite a warm colour, so can't see why it wouldn't work? Plus if you are getting married abroad it would be like your dress is representing the sand and there's is representing the sea! I think it could work really well! xxx

I think it would work. Don't dismiss your color scheme until you check the colors together. I have a very warm skin tone and some of the best colors on me are teal/aqua/blue...

I would and have had to! I bought my dress last week at it's alot more vintage and regal than i was expecting to go for so the dress we had already bought for my BM (bargain off Ebay) doesn't go with it now as i feel it's too modern. It's your big day so why not have everything revolved around the dress ;-) x

I think as long as you haven't gone too far with the color scheme already and bought everything to fit in, it's absolutely fine - I had a set colour scheme in my head when I began planning, but that evolved over time and the eventual colour was decided by the bridesmaid dresses, which are a lovely dark purple.

That said, I think that a creamy goldy colour would go quite nice with aqua...could you get a material swatch so you could compare?

    Xx

can you get the dress made in another colour?? If not, you have more than enough time to change the colour scheme. Even if you have bought things you can sell them on so you don't lose too much money, but if it is your dream dress go for it :) nothing better than feeling amazing in your wedding dress, and changing colours is such a small thing to feel stunning on your big day x

I agree, if you haven't actually purchased anything then yes I would change it, but do go with what you and your OH want and not what is suggested to be better etc

Nope... I wouldn't as I'm not wearing my bridesmaids or my husband to be's outfit at the same time as wearing my dress so what does it matter!

I'm under the same principle that my BMs are not decorations therefore the dresses they wear do not have to match each others nor the table decorations! I want them to feel comfy, look gorgeous and have a style and colour that flatters them... yet have maybe one or two things in common (aside the flowers) to sort of harmonise them and make them gel so to speak!

My dress doesn't really tie in with any particular thing I'm having but I don't care cos it is THE dress and I'll feel amazing in it no matter what!

thank you everyone!!! I especially like the idea that the goldy is like the sand and the blue like the sea!!! i never thought of it that way!

So I bought the dress I wanted!!! And now just to see what goes with it! I'm not ruling out the blue either now, so thanks for all your opinions- they did really help! Just gotta use my swatch and see what we think goes nicely with it!! :) xxx

I changed our colour scheme for my dress. I originally wanted a sage green for my April wedding next year, but have bought my JA dress with a Caramel coloured sash from an essence of Australia dress. The sash makes the dress, it's perfect together, and the colour suits my colouring.as a result I have changed the colour scheme to caramel, or mocha, as it also looks, chair sashes, groom/ushers, stationary and bridesmaids now follow suit.
