Hi everyone I have been thinking about the wedding alot and I thought about timing of the day, I dont know when to start speeches or when to throw the flowers or do the first dance. Is this something the wedding co-ordinator from the venue should organise on the day, or should I be doing my research. Also I know rehearsals are popular in the US but is it common for uk weddings to have a rehearsal for example would the registrar come to the venue to prepare as im not sure that he would. x
Don't know why im worrying about these little things when I have got a million other things to do.
    :-)

you dont tend to have rehearsals for civil ceremonies, as for timings i can draw you a rough one up, if it will make you feel better,

we are having a rehersal but only at the church so that the little ones know what to do and the men know where to stand etc

I've put together a rough way of how i want things to go - i've just written something like

    pics
    speeches
    meal
    break - live band
    Evening disco with buffet

i'll put together times with our wedding co-ordinator on friday at our details meeting

I panicked about this, but my venue really helped!!
we get married at 1.30, civil ceremony, and this is my rough timetable

12.30 Groom arrives, meets with registrar just before 1pm
1pm - guests need to be sat down
1.10pm - I need to have arrived and done the photo thing, and be in with the registrar by this point
1.30 - I walk down the aisle, no tripping!
    2pm - I will be Mrs Brown
3.30 - guests to be seated for the speeches
    4pm -carvery time!!!!

Then between 4pm and 7.30pm, we eat, cut the cake, chatter, and get merrily drunk!! I would throw the bouquet just before you leave
    xx

yeah, i believe so sorry, HOWEVER if you speak to your venue they may be able to help you have a run through, so worth talking to them.

again, the venue will help you or if you want a rough one, message me.

The registry office will have a wedding co-ordinator who you should speak to about 2 weeks before your wedding and they will go through the ceremony with you and discuss music etc and make sure your happy with whats going to happen and who should do what during the ceremony. Try not to worry just give the registry office a call and they'll put your mind at rest.

We're having a civil cermony and are having a rehearsal (and wine tasting) next Tuesday. We didnt ask the venue, it was in the plans anyway. We're also having a wedding meeting in August to go through everything with the co-ordinator and iron out any problems we may have.
My sister got married last year. also a civil ceremony and had a rehearsal. I'd ask your venue hun

Ha! 13th - lucky for some!!! Call the venue and ask them. I'm sure that they will help. I've personally never known someone to get married and not have a rehearsal. Dont you think the time is flying by??? Double figures now!!!

All that would take about 1/2 research on Google. Bit of lateral thinking there :-)
