We recently bought our invites and although I love them there is an issue, The top line is where it would say my parents names however they are divorced so instead we need something different. We were thinking we could have 'the happy couple' but I don't know. Does anyone have any suggestions? x

H2b's parents were divorced beflre his mum then passed away, my parents are still together so our invites said "with their parents, Tracey and Andrew "blah blah blah. Could you do something like that? That way no specific parent is mentioned and you have a broad brush wording xx

If you're interested still in the "correct" wording you should check out THE etiquette site (if you g00gle 'etiquette' it's usually the 2nd option). They have a section on wedding ettiquette - a little old fashioned I know, but it helped me for the 'no children invited' wording on my invites.
Or if you want me to put the link on your wall, let me know.

As we are paying for the wedding and since my family situation is complicated, we are saying that we are inviting them to the wedding. It makes it much simpler and if we are doing the work then we are the ones inviting people!

We are not putting parents names on ours.
My dad will be lucky if he's told about it.

We'll be having something off long the lines of

'.... & .... Request the pleasure of your company'

Not sure of th exact wording yet.

Was going to say, my parents are helping fund our wedding so traditionally should be the ones inviting people to join them in celebrating our wedding etc but they want us to use the money how we want so ours are
Lou & Chris invite bla bla to join them in celebrating their marriage... we were toying with the pleasure of your company..
dont worry Tattty you will find wording... if you do want parents there are a few sites with templates for parents, divorced parents, single parents, etc etc... xx
