Would you consider a wedding that costs £4500 as a budget wedding??I thought that it was maybe a little too much to spend(that includes a weeks honeymoon too.But it will be the total cost of my wedding. What do you think??Have you over spent or under spent??

If you can have everything you need, with bits you want, then your budget doesn't matter. As long as you're happy. Some Brides on here are doing it for even less than that! Some for loads more! Whatever makes your day special x

My original budget was around £4k, but it's ended up at £7k including the honeymoon. I don't think £4.5k is a budget wedding at all, it's amazing what you can get for your money if you know where to look. I cannot see the point in spending £20k+ on a wedding. I can see why people do and how easily it could happen, but I think my wedding will be perfect on a third of that. x

our wedding is costing us £12k we originally thought it was gonna be £15k tho... i think its a lot to spend and prob is a waste of money to be fair but coz we have big families the catering alone is costing us a fortune! xx

Think mine is about 2-3 grand really. my dress was the most expensive thing at £800, even the reception (who are catering aswell) is only about £500 with how many people are coming at the moment lol

we haven't set a budget as such but we're realistically looking at £3500 for the venue but thats for the whole day, we need a DJ, hope to get a friend of a friend to do it. Photographer, we've got at least 2 friends willing to do it, one for free but he does landscapes never done a wedding, and one who has done weddings but we don't know a price yet. His mum's making the cake, my mum's buying my dress, girls dresses from bay of e, flowers I bought wholesale off the net and made them up myself...I think we can get the wedding for under £6k definately...doing as much as we can ourselves to kep costs down and we don't want to borrow money if we can avoid it!!

I wish my budget was £4,500 ......up to now ours is coming in at £12k, we've spent a small fortune on food, drink and the venue as we have a large number of guests going. It will be worth it though :) just a shame we can't fit the honeymoon in on that so we're waiting until 2012 xx

i think its not about the money but the reason u r getting married in the first place if ya clever and you can do it with a small amount then hats off to you there should never be the word Budget when it comes to the actual wedding itself you could have millions of pounds and still not be happy so i think any amount its your day and not budget in any way no matter what you spend you will still get the same excitement of buying stuff and planning it as the next person xxx ( in my opinion only and dont want to offend)

our original budget was £10k but we know we are going to go over that - probably about 11.5k but we are just paying for things as and when they come up. including honeymoon we're looking at 14k. but like i said on another post the other day, if you are meant to be together the marriage will last no matter how much or how little you spend x
