My sister in law who is very fab at making cakes has kindly offered to make our wedding cake - a 3 layer sponge cake covered in chocolate. It will have lots of yummy chocolate on the outside (piccie on my profile) but she said I can have 3 different flavoured sponges and I've no idea which to choose. It's got to be something that goes with the chocolate so was thinking of maybe lemon and she suggested baileys!!!! :) So what flavours would you choose and which size would you put them on? x

Oooh, chocolate sponge with a Bailey's buttercream? Definite win. And I'm a big fan of red velvet cake, gorgeous flavour and fantastic colour when you cut the cake! x

we are having fruit, chocolate and vanilla sponge.
be careful with baileys as some people will love it but others like me would hate it, but as long as you will eat it that it all that matters xx
CommentAuthorClareS
I don't think there will be any of the Bailey's layer left ;) I was thinking of having that as the bottom layer lol

why not? seems a bit mean

It's just in the wedding brochure that a choc fountain or wedding cake can not be used as a substitute for a wedding cake. Probably so they get the money from all the desserts which is fair enough I suppose. Being cheeky I did ask them though lol
CommentAuthorluvlifejen (mrs berr
i didnt ask i just told mine oops! haha x

CommentAuthorMilly87
we are having lemon drizzle as the biggest as thats our fav, chocolate in the middle and then a boring fruit for the little one at the top.
i think either lemon or orange would go great with the choc on the outside. mmm im getting hungry now! x
CommentAuthorClareS
They've given us a good drinks package and 8 rooms free for guests so think i've pushed my luck as far as it'll go lol x
