We've been to 3 this year. The first one was great.... cos we went for a sunday dinner afterwards lol

All 3 were very disappointing..... far too fluffy, safe and traditional.

Not one had alternatives to ivory, white or pink dresses

Not one had anything other than a jag or a bentley in white or ivory

Not one had a wedding cake that didnt have white, ivory or pink icing on - granted there were cakes there with black and red ribbons round, but the icing was still white!

It was all pomp and circumstance and when we asked about having something different we were looked at as if we were something they had scraped off their shoe!

Too full of people trying to sell us a "traditional" wedding who clearly thought that they were in a class above us.

No offence meant to those ladies having these sorts of weddings, but it just **** me off the way we were treated when we asked about alternative stuff as if we'd just stolen their firstborn!

Is it just me.... or do most of these "businesses" that go to try and sell their wares at these things appear to be stuck quite far up their own ****??

Just seems to be that every one we have been to has been hellishly snobby lol

Goff- we were told we would be stupid not to get a wedding planner at one fair. We think we've managed fine.

Exactly Suzi! I think our wedding would be ordinary with a wedding planner. No personal touches. If do it ourselves it reflects us!

I definitely agree Goff. We've only been to one - and tbh that was one too many!!! As soon as we arrived every stall was badgering us into appointments or their products. And the 'fashion show' was a joke. The models looked like they'd just come from high school!!!! How can you take the dresses seriously when you've got kids that look 16 - 18 in heels that they couldn't even walk in??? We laughed so much (and whispered comments to each other) that the people near us (and we were stood near the door) moved as far away as they could from us!!!

    Hi,
We have only been to one - I felt it was all quite traditional but I did find some of the suppliers to be helpful - especailly the videographer who we will be contacting.
The venue were very keen for our business (we were still looking then) but I felt the rooms were very square and generally lacking in any character! There was a fashion parade and our general conclusion was that it was clearly not worth watching as the dresses were so far removed from what I am going for! LOL
Haven't seen any others to go to that are local enough.
