well the h2b has just thrown a idea into the mix ......this is a 2nd wedding for both of us , he wants to do "something different" thats ok i said as long as i can have a blessing and reception here !! we were thinking of a cruise liner wedding ( now proving to expensive) he has now declared A vegas wedding to be the top idea ...why you might ask ....well with him being the evry romatic ...." we could stay in one of our 2 timeshares ( no hotel costs) and use air miles for free flights!!!! we have been to vegas many time and always say how tacky it is to see brides come through casino and now he wants me to be one of them ....

do i go for it then have the big do back here which will feel more like "my" wedding ????

Would you be happy to go for it though? My mate Fiona got married for the second time in Vegas two years ago and she loved it as they only wanted a wee ceremony and something different. She wore a gorgeous blue dress with matching fascinator and you could tune into their service online if you wished which I thought was cool. x

If you want anymore info re my mates wedding in Vegas, just give me a shout and I can pass on your questions to her. Hers wasnt a wedding drive through, it was all booked before they headed out so it wasnt a shotgun wedding either lol and they only had Kennys best man with them as witness to the ceremony. x

Your wedding day is what you make it. You could have the ceremony in a little chapel, and then have a meal in the one of the fancy resturants for example (I thought the stratsophere one sounded quite cool). You don't have to wear the big dress if you don't want to either.

if that is what u want then go for it, i think a wedding can be tacky regardless of where it is, it all depends on what u do with it. my MIL wants to get married in vegas. i would say if u are happy with doing it at vegas and u wont have any regrets go for it hun, im use it would be just as special and elegant as if u had it here xxx

I went to a vegas wedding and it was brilliantly tacky! It was so fun and everyone had a really good time. The couple had Elvis marry them and the vows went something like do you .... take ...... to be your hunka hunka burning love it was hilarious and completely stress free. If your looking for something a bit different I would say definately go for it!

lalsbunni- yeah the on top of the tower. We looked at that one but we were running out of funds as we had been in America for over two weeks. We were staying in the hotel as well! We had a good time in Vegas- there was 21 of us!

Vegas Weddings can be as tacky or as sophisticated as you want them to be!

Check out the weddings in the deserty bit..errrrrrrrrr Red Canyon or something of the like...beautiful location!

My OH's daughter got married in Vegas and although we couldn't go we could watch it on the net and send her roses to be given to her after she was married! I still cried cos at least we got to see the ceremony ;o)

Marrying on the floor of the Grand Canyon was something we thought about. Getting flown out by helicopter and having a champagne breakfast afterward right there in the Grand Canyon...awesome! It was really reasonable too ;o)

if you put it in to its true context then yes some vegas wedding can be tacky,but not all,think of were you are,its a show ground everything about it is glitz and sparkle and elvis!!!!!,,,my friend is getting married in vegas in october and her plans are far from tacky,in fact they are less tacky then katie prices first wedding lol,but on a serious note,personally i dont find them tacky as long as your happy with it,but i get the feeling that its not what you want

it was a fantastic wedding hehe, i suggested it to my h2b for us but cos of family we decided to have a ceremony here instead hehe. We might one day have our vows renewed in vegas. if you go on google and type in the chapel where bon jovi got married you will find the place where they went. The elvis was fab and did 5 songs one of which the bride walked down the aisle. It seemed like the nicest chapel on the strip.

lalabunni- we didn't stay in vegas the whole two weeks- one night at the beginning, two at the end. We were hiking in the desert- in July. Went to Zion, Grand Canyon, Lake Mead and a couple of other places.

My mum and dad renewed their wedding vows in Vegas last year - complete with Elvis!! They had soooooo much fun and said it was brilliant!

The photos and video is really good too! Go for it!

i think vegas can be tacky as its known for drunken marriages and its well marry anyone anytime policy, if you look at britney spears and jordan vegas weddings = tacky, if you look at my down stairs neighbours who got married in vegas (she is bonkers though absolutely off the radar crazy) they had a relly nice wedding there at a fraction of the cost of one over here x

Im looking into vegas wedding, but not white chapel , I want to get married in the valley of fire, abs gorgiz.....stunning scenery for ceremony pics and away from the bright lights and strip..... BUT then have a photo shoot along the strip after.... funny shots under the nevada sign ..... just partner, me and our 2 children.... wish it was sooner :)

I married my first husband in Vegas, we got married in the chapel in the Excalibur hotel, which was very tasteful and not tacky at all. We booked a package for about £500 and got all photos and bouquets etc. Most of the hotels have really lovely chapels. We had a big reception when we got home.

This time around we are doing something more conventional and getting married here!
