I thought I'd start a positive thread about guests. I have had several people not bother to reply, but our whole wedding has happened because people wanted to celebrate with us. We went from having just our parents and my children, to having too many people for the space in the register office (not sure how we're getting round that yet) We were also just going out on the town that evening with our friends, but they wanted us to have a proper reception so have between them gifted us food, cakes, the DJ, the room, organized cheapest price for registered door staff etc. we now have a 'real' evening reception happening. I also only had 7 weeks to plan it all, with about 4 weeks tops between invitations and replies - we've had 120 acceptances to date, with more coming in (it's a buffet that I'm doing so numbers don't matter too much). Family and friends are travelling from Norfolk, Hereford and even as far as France. I thought all my friends had ostracised (can't spell it) me, because when I left my husband he told terrible lies about me but I am so touched that they are all making this effort and doing it for me and my h2b.
Sometimes, people can be simply wonderful :0)

Becky- Mrs Firth2b. unfortunately everyone agreed the room would be the best one in our town. My h2b went down to book it, then learnt that their license requires registered / licensed door staff after 8pm, so wehave to have 2 door staff for 4 hours.
