I popped up to a friends today for a cuppa, cake and a chat to be greeted at the door by her and her little boy absolutely smothered in triangles of material and the comment of 'bugga :oD, you're early!'. She has spent the past few days making brightly coloured (authentic stylee) bunting, she is also going to be making table cloths to match, all for the belated engagement tea party am planning in the summer this year (we are hoping to do a real english tea party, - lil sandwiches, mini cakes, scones, purtee dresses, suits the lot - weather permitting, in august).
It was such a lovely surprise as, not only was I intending to buy some (which she knew) but she has done them exactly to the style, colours and well pretty much everything I would have been looking at/for. All without speaking to me. They looked soooo lush, but as she wasn't quite finished she wouldn't let me take them, as apparantly there are tweaks needed and a presentation box for it all to come in (she is a bit of a perfectionist lol).
Also, received a message from my bestest saying that I am NOT to order/buy any cake stands as she went out today and bought up a load of different styles, about 10 in all lol. So am sorted for cake and sarnie stands too.
Lurrve my friends, they are soo randomly clever, yet practical in the things they do. Am totally blessed!
Had to blab about it, as am still hyped and a lil bit blubberee about it all :o).

Spoke to my bunting babe today, and she has finished them WOOHOOO!! Is now working on the table cloths. She still won't let me 'officially' see them as she wants to present them to me in a box, bless her.. am soo excited.
Went and had a nosee at the stands earlier too, simply could resist lol. My bud has done such a grand job, she has picked up as many different styles as possible and looks as though she traipsed all over to get them.
Will soo be using them at the wedding methinks too.

you can use the bunting as swags on your top table and cake table at the wedding, and cake stands for centre pieces! get double the use out of it all!

Am thinking of putting the table cloths on the tables at random intervals to throw in some colour (as they are all vintage style materials, I got a sneakee peak lol), hadn't thought about where to put the bunting but luvvin that idea, thankees panther and about using the stands as potential centre pieces too, could put flowers in them.
Ya know, I could actually begin to enjoy this planning lark :oD.
