    Hi
We purchased an engagement ring from *******3rn35t j0n35 on 18th June.We thought was a lovely diamond ring ,it is 18ct white gold with 1/2ct diamonds.
My partner and I saw another ring, which we both fell in love with.So after thinking it over we decided to trade what was a week old ring towards a trade in towards this beautiful ring.He offered us just £100.00 for a ring that cost £1,500 said that was because the diamond s where very poor quality.
We decided to see if *******3rn35t j0n35 would exchange the ring in view that the diamond s are so poor !
I was told this wasn't possible even though it was less than 14 days,as it was classified as second hand, and a lot of time had been spent with me ect.No I could not exchange it for another item .Her parting comments " I suggest you do not come back to this shop"
It was humiliating experience, first finding out the ring has poor quality diamonds and been band from the shop.
I rang customers services and was told it couldn't be exchanged even though it was less than 14 days and poor quality ! They said sorry about the shop assistant, but could do Nothing !
All I can say is I will never buy from *****3rn35t j0n35 after my terrible treatment after I had spent over £2,000 as my partner bought a piece of jewellery for himself.
This has spoilt the experience of getting a ring to confirm our love for each other...

    That sounds awful.
Don't you have an insurance? My engagement ring was too big, but my husband gave it to me when I was on my way to Brazil, so he could only bring it back over a month later. And the lady at the shop refused to exchange for a smaller one, but he told her that he had insurance for the ring and they exchanged the ring for him. So the ring was worn for almost a month, and he still managed to get a new one.

I wonder if maybe you should take your ring to someone who does independent valuations and get a second opinion on its worth. The guy you wanted to trade it in with had motive to only give a low valuation. After all the less worth he gives it the the more money he makes on the ring you buy and the old one when he sells it on. I'd take that £100 with a pinch of salt. Have to say tho from personal experience I had an engagement ring from €rn€$t J0n€$ many years ago and within a few months the white gold plating had rubbed off. This time around I knew I'd be looking elsewhere. Can't believe how rude the assistant was.

I was going to say get an independent valuation as well. They can give you a report as to what the ring is made of and then show this to the shop. If they still say no, threaten them that you will post your complaint onto social media.

If they have sold it as something that it is not, that's false advertising so it might be worth talking to trading standards.

Yes I would agree you need to get another valuation for it- however you will only be able to get a refund if the product is faulty, not that you have simply changed your mind- I suppose if you get another valuation and they too say it is not worth the money then yiu could say that you have been mis sold a product under trade descriptions act?

Ps this is partly why I personally never buy jewellery from high street shops as often products are poor quality and over priced and diamonds are not the best cut or clarity for the price you pay - hope you get this sorted x

    Hi
Sadly no insurance except house contents covering lost and theft .
To have the ring valued is £34.00 plus 1% not really worth it as we have bought a beautiful 1ct diamond ring from a independent . I may get it done when are saving are better as we are know wiped out thank to E=... @ones and paying for my new ring.

The whole incident has upset me ,I have never been more humiliated in my whole life !
Told lots of time had been spent on me
Told not to come into the shop again (Never will I go near or any *rn** @ones )
Finding out the diamonds on a 1/2 ct ring are inferior poor quality diamonds.

    What about customer service ???
So I am stuck with a ring that was £1,500 had for less than 14 days that to trade in which always gives you more against a higher purchase item is worth just £100.00 and very poor quality diamond although the gold is good !!

So anyone if think of buying any jewry do not buy from 8rn88 @ones !!!

I would have said to do the same as the other posters have said but i can see you can't get a valuation at the moment. Glad you've got the ring you fell in love with but sorry about you basically loosing money on the 1st ring. Maybe you could try and sell it online, but I guess for that you would still need the valuation because you won't want to sell someone without knowing exactly what your selling. Best of luck with it

As the ring cost so much money to begin with, I personally wouldn't see £34 as a problem. Like others have said, if you can prove with a valuation that it is inferior then you will have done sort of case against them. Also, I'm pretty sure that as it's a single item of more than £1000 you would want to have it specified on your contents insurance anyway!

    Hi
It is covered on my house contents insurance on mine it dose not need to be specified as its value is under £3,000 my new ring will need to be specified when we collect it on Friday !
As my valuation on that nasty ring it will have to wait as all are savings are completely wiped out at the moment;but when we recover I will have the valuation done.
I am still upset at been banned from the shop in front of other people ,if nothing can be done about the ring surely the treatment needs to be readdressed ?

It's bad customer service! Do you have your receipt still? Maybe call trading standards and see what advice they can give you, especially as it's such an expensive item!

I am sure you get a 30 day cooling off period when purchasing and also 28 days for returns, definately give trading standards a ring because the way they have treat you is disgusting to be fair.

    31st August 2013 I became Mrs Carrick
Cant wait to do it all over again in 2018
