So we've got our schedule for the day finalized down to the last minute but the thing that is still baffling us is when to cut the cake!

Wedding breakfast is finishing about 7.10pm following by speeches, change over and band starting at 8pm with a break at around 9.30pm when the buffet comes out. Now we'd prefer to do the cake cutting during the break but we have the problem that the young families/tog/videographer/older generation are going to want to start heading home by then but if we do it too earlier like after the speeches, everyone is just going to be stuffed after the wedding breakfast!

Any advice or ideas when to do it??

You can cut it any time you want, but then the venue co-ordinator can take it away then cut it up and bring it back out later on :) xx

We will be cutting the cake before our first dance which is at 8.30. You also need to give the venue enough time to actually cut the cake and get it out with the buffet. Our buffet is coming out about 9 xx

We are cutting the cake after the meal at about 7:30pm. Then the venu are cutting it up and bringing it out with the evening buffet. I don't think it really matters what time you cut the cake. People can always take it home if they are too full! X

The venue aren't cutting it up as it's a top cake with a tower of cupcakes so we don't need to worry about that.. Do you think it's ok to just cut it around 8.30 ish even though it's not during the break? The problem with doing it after the meal is that we have to go downstairs for the change over and wouldn't want people missing it if they are heading down to get drinks/chiffed out x

We cut the cake after the speeches but it was served on the buffet in the evening do at about 9:00. They took it away to cut and then put it out on the buffet as a dessert option. Potentially you could always ask them to box some slices ready for people who are leaving early to take away with them.
