Hi there ladies!!! I am feeling a bit wet behind the ears being new to this website! :) My fiancee and I got engaged a couple of months ago, and it has been a bit of a rollercoster ride with the celebrations! We are so in love! :) We already have two young children, and they have been taking up a lot of our time, so have not really had a chance to even think about the ''big day'' yet!!! It is all just so very overwhelming! We are on a tight budget, (as I am sure everyone is) so very limited to choice. I am hoping to find some tips and advice from someone (or someones )about a venue in the fife/kinross/perthshire area.... We have not set a date, as cannot do this until we have found a venue we like/can afford, but it will probably be in 2013, July/August time. (had to put a date on my profile page to sign up to this) I also hope to make some friends and perhaps, once I have gained some confidence and experience, help out other newbies!!! :) I look forward to hearing from at least one person... <3

We're all like a massive family on here - and yes, lots of us are on a budget too so lots of help can be found. Where abouts are you looking to have your wedding? how many guests in mind? Civil or church?? Let us know and we'll see what we can all do to help..
By the way - congrats and welcome to the mad house!!! xx
Oh also - remember to unrestrict your profile so we can all start adding you as friends!! xx

Hello and welcome tot he site :) everyone is sooo friendly and helpful. Fab at passing on a bargain too. You'll soon be as addicted as the rest of us x
If you're on a tight budget call in favours from friends and family with skills!. Anyone handy with a camera? Anyone good with cakes? Instead of a sitdown meal you could always have a hogroast or a BBQ? (could set up a savings account with your local butcher to pay for it a bit each week/month) Or as it's in the summer, could have an 'afternoon tea' theme. The well known internet buying and selling site e bay is fab for bargains
Just a few things to go on with Clare x

Awwwwww, thank you all for your lovely welcomes!!! Really makes me feel not so overwhelmed!!! We live in fife, scotland, so are looking for a venue close-ish to that area... It will be a civil wedding - so looking for a place that has a civil license for the ceremony and reception to be in one place. Because S's family is so big, once you add on my few family members (cheeky I know!) and our few close friends, we are looking at approximately 75 people (haven't done a proper list yet though)
Thanks for the tips ClareE, will keep them in mind.... we were thinking of a hogroast, buffet thing, but got stuck at the same point again - where to have it! Not really keen on hiring our public hall in the village, as there is no where close by for nice photos to be taken, and it would involve us travelling tot he nearest court for the ceremony. As you can see, I have gotten myself into a bit of a paff about it all!!! And what worries me is that this is just the venue!!! what am I going to be like when I have to arrange everything else!!! ha ha ha!!! My poor hubby2b!!!!!

Start adding friends - I've sent a request on your page x just a point to note - most venues which have a civil ceremony license will be places that will require a budget of thousands rather than just £1000 - £2000 all in... kind of hotels / manor houses which will insist on their own catering, alcohol and entertainment provision instead of you having a split venue with you sourcing the entertainment and having a pay as you go bar and getting family to chip in with desserts to keep the food cost down. I'm being flippant and generalising, but you get the drift :0)
