I got the first pair which are lovely, but once I saw my dress I did not think they would go with it so got another pair which looked delightful in the pic but not as good when they arrived. I was going to just go with the first pair as they did actually go with the dress, and then had a thought about having shoes in a colour from our colour scheme, found those, should have been £75 and paid £15 brand new for them!

Here's are mine on the wedding day they got so many nice compliments!!! I had to take them off when we went down into the woods tho as i kept sinking into the mud! Luckily my other shoes were only in the disabled lav which was renamed the Bridal Powder Room, so hubby sent his groomsman to go get them and bring them to me and then take these ones back to the ladies so they didn't get lost

I love JC's, they're SO comfortable and stylish :-) I've got a pair of low-heeled peep-toes in the champagne glitter fabric for the ceremony and I love them
CommentAuthornatalie2614
My budget wouldnt have stretched for JC's for me :(

So glad you said they are comfortable!! I'm a JC virgin but really want to be able to wear these throughout the whole day :)
CommentAuthorbarbie86
I'm a shoe addict lol; I have 3 pairs of JC's (5 if you include my flip-flops and bridal shoes), and 6 pairs of Ginas (7 if you include my second bridal pair lol), as well as some Dolce and Gabbana and Kurt Geigers. I find them so much more comfortable than 'regular' shoes, and rarely buy non-designer heels any more (though I get all mine in the sale or at sample sales; so the most I've paid, bar my wedding shoes, is £240, and that was for a £600 pair of shoes). Also, I've found they just don't date if you buy wisely; my first pair of JCs are 10 years old now, and you'd never guess in a million years. Whereas all my high street shoes seem to date within like a year! So I consider them an 'investment' lol ;-)
Their after sales is also really good; the elastic went on my fave JCs (I wear them ALL the time, they're really versatile and easy to walk in), and it cost £15 to have both replaced, and I also paid £45 to have the heels re-covered; they pulled out a whole swatch book of different fabrics and leathers, and they were back to me within 5 days, over Xmas! I was really pleased.
CommentAuthorJackieFC
That sounds brilliant! I agree I think you get what you pay for, I've a few louboutins, caravels etc but as I say no choos yet :) exciting!!!
CommentAuthorbarbie86
I need some Loubs; also some Manolos. I feel like my shoe collection isn't complete with those designers missing lol ;-)
CommentAuthorJackieFC
Loubs I can assure you are worth every penny!!!! :)
CommentAuthorOleH
mmm, tempted into getting some bridal JCs. You can always wear them again can't you?! lol

CommentAuthorbarbie86
OleH: if you go with a silver/gold, then you can easily wear them again :-) And they are just SO beautiful!
I personally am a cheapskate in that I like value for money; I wouldn't pay more than maybe £50 if I was only wearing a pair of shoes once, but would happily pay £400 for something I can wear again and again :-)
CommentAuthornatalie2614
Id love a pair of Loubs, more than Choos but I cant wear a big heel due to a bad back. So it would seem a waste for me :(

CommentAuthorOleH
barbie86: I love the JCs shown above and the others on their site and my second dress has a silver belt so I have an excuse really. Now, how do I break this to the other half lol. Seriously though, need to justify the cost :) x

CommentAuthorJackieFC
You need to explain to the other half it's an investment :) lol x
CommentAuthornatalie2614
It is an investment if you can wear them more than once!
I needed a pair of patent black courts to go with a shift dress, paid £14 for a pair out of Asda and got loads of compliments on them! Was only planning on wearing them once but they might get a second outing :)

CommentAuthorbarbie86
natalie: see, I don't like Loubs as much, I have a weird thing about the red soles, I really hate red.. But I feel like I 'should' have some lol
OleH: my justification for the whopping £600 (was nearly £800; got lucky and got a huge discount on the Gina's, but would have paid £800) spent on shoes was that, unlike the dress, they'd be worn time and time again after the wedding. I have never understood the logic in spending £1k plus on a dress you'll wear once, than scrimping on shoes that you can wear over and over. Also, it was really important to me to be comfortable on the day; I can wear my designer shoes for hours on end without them rubbing, or making the soles of my feet burn, because of how well they fit, how soft the leather is, and how well they're made. I know that if I'd bought cheaper shoes (I do own shoes from numerous high-street stores and find that without exception, they all eventually rub or make my feet burn; typically I can cope for a few hours max, and limit being on my feet) they would have hurt; and I really didn't want that.
So my thoughts are that if you can afford them, you might as well treat yourself! :-)
CommentAuthorOleH
Great thinking ladies, JCs are an investment really. Will try but don't think it will happen lol x

suzky: I don't have any Loubs I'm afraid; however, I know that the big department stores in London do discount them in the sale, though typically it's only around 30% off initially, and you need to get in quick if you're a size they don't stock as many of, or a very popular size (I'm a size 6 so have to be pretty quick off the mark lol)
Of my 5 pairs of JCs, my flip-flops were bought from a department store with my dad's discount (20%); another pair from the same store, half-price in the sale plus an additional 20% off (dad again lol; they were my first pair); then 2 pairs were bought from JC stores at 50% off, and the last pair were full-price.
My Ginas have all been bought either from their store in Sloane Street, or their website; if you sign up to their mailing list they said you a discount code for an extra 20% off their sale items (which are all already 50% off) twice a year; on average, I've got them at 65-70% off RRP.
My most recent purchase, my Dolce and Gabbana's, were 60% off at a sample sale in London. If you search for London sample sales, there's a website which lists them; they have a variety of designers (clothes, jewellery and bags as well as shoes), and discounts are typically 60-90%
HTH! :-)

Im not having traditional white wedding shoes as bit too boring for me so gone for Red. Also could only have a 2 inch heal or make my dress too short so these were perfect and will wear again and again.....
