I bought my wedding shoes yesterday, a gorgeous pair from Paradox London.
The problem is, or rather, my hubby to be's problem is.....due to height of the heel, we'll be nearly the same height on the wedding day! I'm 5'5, he's 5'10....my shoes have a 4 inch heel.
The reason he has an issue with this is, he thinks the photos will (in his words) be 'ruined' because we'll be nearly the same height.
I think he's wrong, and being a bit daft to be quite honest!! I can't see how us being the same height will 'ruin' our photos!
What do you think guys? xx

If he's wearing proper suit shoes, they will also have a tiny heel on them, tiny but effective ! My H2B would have the same problem.. I'm 5ft2 and he's 5ft10, and I'm not wearing any shoes at all, and he's glad of that cause he loves how tiny I am.. I think guys see it as a protective, manly thing, being much taller than their girly.. He probably thinks that he should look much taller as the man.. Weird I know, but I must admit, I wouldn't wear anything that would make me nearly the same size as my H2B cause I do love how much taller he is than me xxx
I can't wait to become his Wife :-)

I have exactly the same issue with my h2b and my shoes, but basically I haven't told him! (I'm guessing this is a bit late in your case) Whenever I wear heels he's not too keen that we are the same height, but I looooove shoes and so they are important to me on the day.
If you "lean" right in the pics, you can make yourself appear an inch smaller than him. I'm sure if you had a quiet word in your photographers ear, they will be able to work magic with poses!
Like MrsH said he'll be wearing suit shoes which have a heel on them anyway, probably add an inch and a half. I think the pictures will look lovely having you both at similar height.

My h2b isn't the tallest person in the world but he's not bothered by it! But I have gone for smaller heels purely because if I wear high heels I (personally) feel like a big monster towering him.

Thanks guys :)
H2b will be wearing kilt shoes & like you say, they have a slight heel.
SarahC903 I'm exactly the same, I love shoes & I want to love my wedding shoes. I've looked at flats and small heeled shoes but they just aren't me! What you said about the photographer working some magic is what I said to my h2b last night! I'm definaltey going to have a quiet word in his ear pre wedding heehee :)
H2b should just be glad I won't be taller than him!
Thanks again xx

He's talking stuff and nonsense! Why does he think that anyway?
CommentAuthorSusie
There is only an inch in height between my H2B and myself, I have chosen flats merely because I am a very broad girl I have to look dainty in some way! lol But if his shoes have a slight heel and your heights are different by a few inches anyway, it shouldnt matter having a couple of inches on your wedding shoes!! Go for what you are going to love for the big day!!
CommentAuthorValentinaK
Utter nonsense!
I'm already taller than H2B by about an inch! I'm still having some heel in my shoes, about 2-3 inches but not killer heels, which I think I'll be thankful of later anyway! I'm gonna be taller than him but if you have a good photog, they deal with this all the time and come up with creative ways to make everything look proportional! Anyway, whats the problem with heights anyway? Its a bit weird people get hung up over it... the smiles on your faces are what will be captured and make the photos!
And we lived happily ever after!

clive.....I've no idea why he thinks they'll be ruined. Personally, if I'm being honest I think he is making a big deal out of nothing!
ValentinaK....totally agree, it is utter nonsense! I'm sure our photographer could work the pictures so his male ego isn't dented by me being the same height!
From the way he's going on you'd think I was going to turn into the BFG on our wedding day!!

My H2B is the same. He doesn't like it when I wear heels because it makes me the same height as him. But the only flat shoes I ever wear are flipflops, otherwise its heels.
My wedding shoes are 4" heels. (£10.60 from D-hams!) I collected them the other day and stood next to H2B and looked in the mirror. I was just a tiny fraction shorted than him, and he said it's ok because his shoes with his uniform have a bit of lift in them.
Why not both put your shoes on and stand together looking in a mirror to see how it'll look. You could also try some ways of standing with your head lent into him that'll make you look a little shorter.

I dont think anyone will notice any height difference on the day. Count yourself lucky that your still shorter than him! My H2B is 1 inch taller than me but with my heels on ill be taller than him. he wants me to wear flats all day but i told him that I need to wear heels down the aisle at least or they will be a waste! ive compromised and said that I will swap into my flat shoes for the photographs. he will be in his uniform anyway so will have a bit of a heel on his shoes hopefully! x

I think he is talking nonsense, I wouldn't give it a 2nd thought, wear want you want and heels as high as you want.

Im nearly the same height as h2b so im wearing flats as i dont want to be taller than him on the photos. Youll be fine if youre happy with bit. Or if hes really that bothered, dint wear any shoes while your having your pics done or wear flats? And then put your heels back on after x

I don't see the issue. I'm slightly taller than OH in heels (I'm 5'7" and wear 5 inch heels occasionally; OH is a shade under 6') and he really doesn't care. That said, my weddings shoes are 2.5 and 3.5 inches, so, I will be shorter; but that was for comfort reasons, not height reasons. I'll be taller than my dad, and one of my bridesmaids is 6' in bare feet, so I honestly don't think it matters TBH.
