Hi Girls! I live in Truro and looking for venues in the Devon and Cornwall area! Anyone know of any nice manor house type places that don't cost a fortune? We love Boscundle Manor and Hatt House (we'd like a marquee for the reception) but they are slightly more expensive than we hoped. Need to start haggling!!

We'd ideally like to have the ceremony and reception in one place with either on-site accommodation or accommodation close by for guests to stay. We fell in love with Boringdon Hall and that was really reasonable but as we went to put our deposit down they informed us the reception marquee is going this November :( gutted!

been looking for a cornish thread im from mullion on the lizard peninsula! and im getting married in the hotel down the road from my house that over looks the sea at 180 degree panoramic views so excited!!!! anyone else this far down?

hehe i have a campsite down here but its in kuggar which is about 3 miles from mullion . i loveit best job ever feels like im permanently on holiday whe im working but 14 hour days do take there toll! i love this area so much! and i agree the views are amazing! the hotel we have chosen for our wedding is right on the edge of a cliff so the views are breath taking! although due to my job it mean i cant get married in summer so planning for a wet day with a stormy sea but because im planning for it it think views will be just as dramatic! and guest will all have brollies and wellies if the need must lol!

i dont mind rain tbh part of being a cornish lass lol but if by some miracle its sunny will also be very pleased!! cant wait to see the photos the views are unexplainable and the best bit is the room we are gettin married in has 180 degree panoramic view of the sea so i will have something to focus on when walking down the isle! ( i need this to make sure i dont cause a tear flood of my very own lol) the only downside is i have to do a lot myself as not much in the way of competition down here so prices tend to be high but i wouldnt swap it for the world! i knew i would get married in this hotel since i was 8 despite telling myself and anyone who would listen im not ever getting married!! :)
