I haven't been on here for ages! However as always I need a bit of help with passports. I've heard you can apply to change your passport to you r married name before the wedding however don't know how long before and how this would work? If someone knows pleaseeeee tell me!
Thanks xxx

You can change it 3 months before the wedding date but you can't use it until after you're married. You have to cancel your old one then do a new application and get the newlyweds form signed by the person marrying you to support the application :)

I don't really know too much about this apart from if your honeymoon is booked under your maiden name then your passport also needs to be in your maiden name. Have you booked anything yet? xxx

You can always change your name over if you have already booked your honeymoon.. Will probably cost though.. It also costs the price of a totally new passport to change your name on that, so £72.50 I think it is.. Go on the gov . uk website and its all on there xxx

I'm not sure how that works - going to your wedding destination would be fine as your passport's still in your maiden name but it would be changed by the time you fly home. Hmm...confusing.

Your name printed in the passport won't have changed by time you fly home lol.. As long as the ticket and passport is in the same name it doesn't matter xxx

My honeymoon was booked in my maiden name and seeing as I have three years left on my passport I won't be changing it anytime soon. You can still book holidays in your maiden name until the passport expires, then you can apply for a new one in your married name. I've been trying to change my name for the past week at the bank, work and billing companies and the least I can do the better, lol!
Lana - you book the holiday in your maiden name. My honeymoon was two days after my wedding and I was still under my maiden name. You can still book holidays in your maiden name until your passport expires, your maiden name is just as legal as your married them, just depends which you prefer to be known by.

if your getting married abroad ALL tickets MUST be booked in the name that is on your passport, some people have been under the notion that as long as you have your marriage certificate then the airlines will let your travel having your tickets in your married name and your passport in your maiden name .....THIS IS NOT TRUE .....the two things have to match
We have booked the honeymoon tickets in my married name so I'll need my passport to match that!
Will have to get the forms from the post office and figure it out! xx

i have downloaded a form from gov.uk website and taking it to the church so that he can sign it. then you get your passport in married name and book holiday in married name. you can apply 3 months before wedding so im doing mine in january. if you have an old passport you can transfer up to 9 months from the old one onto new one x
