    Hi all!
I'm new to UK bride... getting to grips with the site and forum!

I'm recently engaged (we're awaiting the ring!) and we are due to be married on May 4th in Canada. H2b is Canadian and we will be living there after the wedding. He is sorting out EVERYTHING over that side... it feels like don't tell the bride or something :P

We will then be having a 'wedding' in the UK, on Friday 30th May, which will be a blessing, but I'll be having bridesmaids and such here.

I'm very excited although already very stressed, will be looking through all the posts on tips, diy info and weddings on a budget. With two weddings and lots to organize, I'm open to all the help and advice I can get!!!!

Looking forward to chatting to all you lovely brides and reading about your special days.

    Elaine.

Hi Elaine - welcome to the site :)

There are a couple of us on here that have done similar things. I got married in Las Vegas and then had a blessing in our local park and a reception locally to where we lived.
There were a couple of moments of stress, but really not that much if I'm honest. I certainly wouldn't have done it any other way and I'd do it in a heartbeat all over again, given half a chance :)

Feel free to ask any of us for tips if you can't find what you're looking for, or if you get stuck.

    Happy planning!

I'm organising 2 weddins too! I'm marrying an Brit in England in Winter (Jan 24) and then having a Beach wedding in Australia (i'm aussie) the same weekend a year later! I'm just not thinking to much about the 2nd one yet but making sure that everything I buy I can reuse which is hard because it's 2 different themes! and one is winter and one is summer. Renting a bit of stuff and shopping locally. I've found small businesses in my city are ready and willing to do us deals because it's traditionally an off peak season and they are happy for the business so that is my BIGGEST tip that I've found so far! I've recruited a few friends to do a lot of DIY stuff and a lot of it I can do wayyy in advance (checkout my pintrest boards for ideas)
