I love NYC!!! Been 3 times lol ;)

How long are you going for?

The first time I went I booked a flight and hotel package through V!rg!n as they include all the transfers but the next two times I've booked everything myself seperately so I get exactly what I want.

I'd suggest staying either in the Times Square area, by the bottom part of Central Park (close to Bloomies) or near Macys so that you're in central Manhattan within easy walking distance.

I loved the helicopter tour over Manhattan! The double decker tour buses are a great way to get around and see the city and all the main attractions (you can buy a two day hop on hop off ticket). Definitely see a Broadway show too (can book through the hotel concierge when you get there if you stay at any half decent hotels). I've stayed at the H!lton's in Times Square and the Central Park one, both lovely hotels with great service.

If you book hotel and flights separately, then instead of taking a taxi, it's far cheaper to book a shuttle mini bus (can book it from this country in advance) who do hotel to airport pick ups and drop offs door to door.

As you're going in winter be prepared for it to be icy cold and snowing! The first time I went it was the 2nd week of January, it snowed heavily and was beautiful but absolutely freezing, I'd never felt cold like it!

So much more to tell you. You'll have fab time!
    xx

I've been to Vegas too! Personally I wouldn't recommend, not a fan, too fake for me BUT great location to visit the Grand Canyon. Vegas and NYC are on opposite sides of the US though so a very long flight! Like another 6 to 7 hours I think!

I'd highly recommend doing a multi-city if you have the time, do NYC, Boston and Washington so you cover the East Coast (slightly less flying). You'll need a good 2 weeks to do all of them. H2B and I did Boston and Washington last year for 10 days and loved it! For me the best time to go is September, you don't get the scorching heat of summer where it is unbearable but it's still lovely and warm and sunny plus go after the kids go back to school ;)

Boston and Washington are great for a more cultural experience, I learnt a lot out there, I found out more about the real USA and the history, it's so interesting (if you're into that kinda thing).

If you do have the appetite to fly out to Vegas then make sure you do see the Grand Canyon, it's an experience not to be missed! I thought it was amazing! Whilst you're up that part of the States visit San Francisco, I loved it!

Alternatively you can do Chicago which is a little nearer but it's more like a slightly tamer version of NYC in my opinion but lovely nonetheless.

PM me if you want to know more ;)

    I love the US!
    xx

you will absolutely love it its an amazing place i would recommend to do as much sight seeing as poss statue of liberty twin towers central park empire state building . rockafella centre (the view is better from here than empire ) also go to empire at around 5 ish as u will see everything in the light and dark and its lush . take plenty of spends and defiantly ice skate in central park its so good and brings back memories of home alone . it is so easy to get around and i would recommend to see a show ,. me and my friend booked our trips before we went and was cheaper as well as the show . so all we had to do was print out our paper work and then take it to the places so easy xxx

We're planning on going to New York for our Honeymoon too. It's a bit selfish really because it's more my choice than his but I've had 3 previous disapointments of booking to go and for one reason or another not being able to make it. I've always wanted to go and h2b is adamant that he will take me to make up for all the disappointments. I pretty much know the city inside out because I've planned itineraries for each trip. We were origininally going to see a few cities but not sure now as I have so much that I want to see and when I've told h2b he's been up for it too so we'll make a decision on what to do once we're ready to book. We've still got to find out if he'll be able to go on honeymoon because his work is messing us about.

    I can't wait until 29/06/2013
The day I marry the man of my dreams!

Thanks for all the responses guys!

I gather that a lot of people book tickets etc before they even get there, are there websites to go on to book these mrs clarke to be?

Shirleygirly...i hope your H2B's work stops messing you about, thats the last thing you want to worry about x

    Thanks krisw86 x
