Well I bought our favour boxes ages ago as I love them and are perfect for our homemade truffles to go in and I bought personalised ribbon to decorate them with. So just been having a faff with all things weddingy and really disappointed with the boxes...think they look really poo. Did a couple of alternatives that I had samples of and then back to original box...now I don't know what to use...
I have 50 boxes and one reel of personalised ribbon so what should I do? Please give me your opinions (this was a first try, they're not perfect and it took me about 4 hours to do these!)
Oh I also have 2 reels of the plain ribbon which is for my invites but I will definately have loads left over...

Thanks girls, they look ok on pics but the ends of the ribbon have frayed already and the inside looks a little tatty...I could neaten it up actually will just take a while

They all look nice, but I like no 3 best.
What about No 1 with a bow on top? or 2 pieces looped over to sort of look like a bow with one of those little gems on the middle cross section, or no 1 with a knotted bit of ribbon (but with ends cut off)
But, I think when you look at little detail bits like this, they are lovely, but only really come into their own with all your other little bits and pieces, if you know what I mean, when the table is dressed, centre pieces, etc.

For me I think it is because the personalised ribbon does not 'read' properly, so your names and date are not clear which would traumtise me. I prefer the pillow box as there is more room to run the ribbon around to make sense of the personalisation.

No 2 looks the most professional - you could make the ribbons turn under the box lid then glue a square card over the top so you don't see any ribbon ends - or try a thin painting of clear nail varnish on the end x

I like the last one with the diamonties but with the original ribbon. There wasnt an option for that one lol but i do like the 2nd picture one as well

tip for after cutting the ribbon so it dont fray (depending in fabic used - try on small but first)... lightly burn the cut edges with a lighter (dont touch it directly just put very near it so the heat get to it) if u do it right u cant tell$ whats been done and looks great. i had to do this with mine for invites but couldnt tell i had done it ....... hope that helps hun

I like the pillow box, as it will be easier to put in a pocket or handbag, and you won't get left with loads :-)

Thanks for the tips on coping with fraying will have to try that one...
Si came home last night and we added a bow and diamante to the box...he doesn't like the pillow box ones (typical) and prefers the original box.

Thanks girls. CJ - I bought the boxes and had to assemble them as they were flat. The square and pillow boxes were just samples I'd been given but we bought the others and have 40 of them which is why we were trying to use them instead.
Jilly - thanks hun...but I'll do them better so the date and names are clearer.
