We were on the brink of cancelling the whole thing tonight but we have found a way round it. We thought we could afford the sit down meal and kilts for the guys and boys but this just simply cant happen. So we have decided we will get suits for the boys and just have a running buffet when something runs out it can be topped up again. We have also decided to look around and see if we can get a cheaper wedding cake as well. Was nearly in tears earlier because of it all. xx

It can be very emotional when you have to cut things out, but at least your day is saved! Just need to do some shopping round to get a cheaper cake but it will be worth it, glad you have talked it through and found a solution! :D x

Thanks girls. Been on M&S site looking at cakes and a 3 tier will cost us 130 also put an ad on our local gumtree see if we can get someone on there who could maybe do it for us. xx

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww damn i am silly why dint i think of this.... my mate told me over day u can hire or buy ( not sure which( a window cake from sum cake shops! so it luks like a proper cake n u pretend to cut it on ure cake then just buy a flat cake from supermarket!

m and s and asda may have what you are looking for cake wise. TBH most supermarkets are now becoming onboard with the cake idea so check out a range and buy some nice ribbon to go around them.

M&S wedding cakes are lovely, the last 2 weddings I have been to both got there cakes from there and you would never tell the difference. One had the plain 3 tier cake and the other had the one with the waterfall roses, I can honestly say they were perfect!! And if your looking for boys suits, there's lots of websites that do kids suits for 25 quid and if you send them back within 7 days of the wedding you get 50% of your money back. As for flowers, try silk and make them yourself.. so easy when you've had a practise!

Thanks Mrs-Walker-2b we have our flowers i made them a couple of weeks ago only cost £20 for all the stuff from ebay. Seen th boys suits on there as well for £20 only thing is im having trouble finding cheap cravats for them. Been looking on ebay and they are working out about £7 for 1. xx

You can get ready made fruit cakes from the likes of cake shops and ebay. You just then need to decorate them up which can work out even cheaper than if you got them already iced from m&s.
