SIan I found the wire collar really flexible and I reckon could easily be stretched out more or squeezed in more if that makes sense xx

This bouquet business is not an easy one... Nearly threw mine against the wall 2 nights ago. I hate it and it's not working out. I don't think a wire collar is my solution...

Mine just doesn't look how I envisioned it. I probably need more flowers. It's gappy. And kind of messy. I don't want the usual fillers and I also can't get the material around how I want it. Also not sure if I like the toadstools and deers like they are...

Just keep playing about with it LMB or have a week off from it then go back to it
My wire collar is here now need to sort how I am going to put the thing together should I super glue my embellishments on??
Sian are your embellishment flat backed or do they have anything you can attach wire to? A few of the embellishments I got were for cards etc so I found I couldnt use them as I couldnt attach the wire to make "a stem" with the wire.
In times of using the wire collar done the following: My brooch bouquet - I spread the wire out a bit more to make it bigger , then threaded through all the wire stems (about 50) until I was happy with coverage. I added them through so they were all meeting in a central area to form the handle. when i had them all through i just reshaped the collar to be slightly more domed. I havent tied the stems together as yet.
Button Bouquets - I squashed the wire in to make it smaller, threaded the stems through again and made the bunch and shaped to make bit more domed again. Bound the stems together with floral tape till it was firm and tight and then went over that with ribbon.

Some of them are flat backed was thinking of glueing them on also a lot of the brooches are quite weak and the pin keeps snapping off them :( its never going to work is it its just a waste of time
Try to keep positive hun - I almost gave up so many times. I had to leave it and not even look at it for a few weeks at a time. I tried not to use the clasp either so I didnt have them coming off half way through the day. I used the tiniest wire (will look up the code when monster boy isnt around otherwise he will pull everything apart) - I used this wire to either loop through the tiniest hole or lay across the brooch/piece in a way it couldnt be seen and only if there was no other way then did I use clasp. I then attached the thin wire to thicker wire that was the right thickness to give me the strength and finish I was looking for.
For the ones that are flat backed - how about glueing them on pieces of material in the right shapes that you want and making the "flower head" from that?

I don't really want to use material but thin wire might be a good idea
My camera is rubbish Sian but here is an idea of what i done with the embellishments/brooches/jewellery.

How about bending a thick wire a little (like an L) and glue the short end to the flatback. This technique is used for making bouquets from fabric rosettes (according to online tutorials).

LMB how is your bouquet now?? do you still feel like it's gapey?? (is that a word???)
if so, you could get a small dry oasis ball and cover it with finland moss. then stick the stems round it. if there are any gaps, it'll look fine :)

Lol I just suggested something similar in the other thread :)
Think I'm going to have a similar problem with gapping.

i was just looking at tutorials for making pomanders and they used moss. so simple, but so effective!!!
i think i'm going to try that with my bouquet. i'm thinking about adding a few button stems or something.

I had them all on a (crocheted) ball at first but I didn't like it. I didn't like how they overlapped and still left gaps. I think I really prefer the bunching - have closed the gaps with see through crystal thread, I stitched the petals together (underneath). Am waiting for payday to buy new material to drape around (don't like the one I've got) and then it should be soon finished.
And then on to 7 (!!) bms bouquets which will do my head in!

It's absolutely stunning Lisa, well done! Where did you come up with the idea? I think it's so lovely, the best thing is, you can pass it down to your daughter when it's her turn xx
