I've a little big problem and would love some advice.

All my bridesmaids are married. I want my best friend to be my Matron of honour and of the others, one is my sister and my brother's fiancee (both of which are now divorced).

I'm not sure of protocol and don't want to offend either, but what would their actual title be? Bridesmaid?

    Many thanks xx

Technically any bridesmaid that is married is actually a matron of honour, as bridesmaids are single. I think if they have been married they would still class as matron of honour. You could call all three matron of honour and have a chief matron of honour. Then maybe a young girl as a bridesmaid if there is anyone suitable?

Matron of honor is what you would call a married maid of honor. Bridesmaids are bridesmaids irregardless of marital status.

Chief Matron of honour... That's what I was thinking.

I'd like my best friend as MOH, my sister & brothers fiancee will be just bridesmaids then.

Thank you for your advice ladies xx

I don't think now adays it matter, generally Maid or Matron of honor are the ones who is generally your best best friend and who you trust with the most responsibility. Both mine are married, my cousin is my Matron of honor, and then my best friend is also what I would call a Bridesmaid even tho shes married, Maybe she would be a Bridesmatron! lols

Same here, I have two married bridesmaids and a matron of honor. They all were pleased no matter what they were called

My maid of honor refuses to be matron of honor even though she will be married before me as she said it makes her sound old lol. I think the same as the other brides - these days title doesn't matter too much and bridesmaid will do fine x

My maid of honour is my closest friend and future sister in law (as she's married to my h2b's brother) and I also have my longest friend as my chief bridesmaid. All it is really is a title for them to feel a bit more involved, I have 3 other bridesmaids too and they all basically do the same thing, all of them are putting effort in to help me organise my wedding and hen weekend x

My matron of honour is very definitely matron as not only has she been married (and sadly widowed), but she is in her late 40s and at a push could have been a 16 year old mother to me. I'm closer in age by a year to her daughter who is 17 (I'm 31). There was no question in my mind that she would take the role of chief bridesmaid, as she has been very much a surrogate mother and is by far my closest friend, but bridesmaid or maid of honour just wouldn't work for her, and she herself doesn't feel comfortable with the name bridesmaid.
