    Hi girls

I am after a little advice...
We are getting married in a castle next march and it has a grand piano in the room and cannot be removed.

So what I'm asking is is it worth paying £100 for the rental of the piano and £300 for a pianist to play music for before the ceremony me walking in and for me and h2b walking out...
What are your thoughts??? I just can't decide... It seems a waste not to use it but £400 for less than an hour is it too much???

It does seem a shame not to use it. Do you have to have the venues musician to play it or can you hire your own? Is there anyine in the family that can play it?

We have exactly the same situation as you. Way too much money just think what you could do with £400...

It may sound cynical, but going on the figures you've given, I just think they have pound signs in their eyes!

How about writing or calling any nearby schools or piano teachers, they might have a student that it willing to do it for the experience? Just make sure they are good at it first!!:D

    Zoe... Can I do that??

I just don't know what to do otherwise really??? I really want Bruno mars marry you as I come in and beauty and the beast on the way out so they are completely different pieces of music.

Any ideas to cut costs??? X

I can't see the harm in asking, the worse they can do is say no. Its worth a shot. My friend plays the piano, she's quite high in her grades but still goes to lessons. She has told me before that people have contacted her teacher about her students playing at weddings. Even if they don't do it for free its definitely going to be cheaper than £300. I love the idea of having beauty and the beast, not sure my h2b would like it much though lol x

It's definitely worth it! I can't remember who but one lady on here contacted a local college about a photographer for her wedding. I think they charged £50 for a full day's coverage with images on a disc afterwards.
I know when I was at college studying Performing Arts, I would have been honoured to have had the opportunity to do something like that :)

I think its definitely worth shopping around and see if you can get a better offer...(unless the venue insists on an approved pianist)...if not i think it depends on your budget and how much it will mean to have the live music on the day... :)
