Having spent over 30 years in the hospitality and events industry, I know how important it is to find the perfect venue for a wedding. As the owner of The White Lion—and having been the very first couple to marry here in January 2025—I can say firsthand just how special this venue is. “I spent time searching for a venue that was intimate, offered exclusive use, had a friendly atmosphere, served great food, and provided space for a proper evening celebration with accommodation for our guests. The White Lion ticked every box, and our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and more.” Now, my team and I love sharing that experience with our couples, guiding them through their own unique celebrations. My vision for The White Lion was to create a venue that feels personal and unpretentious, offering an alternative to the often formulaic ‘conveyor belt’ wedding experience. We believe that even if budgets are tighter than in the past, weddings can still be deeply special. Memorable days are shaped by the people you share them with and the care and attention that goes into planning. Every couple is different, and it’s a joy to explore new ideas—whether in design, layout, themes, or menus. Food is such a central part of the day, and we always offer tasting sessions for our exclusive-use couples to meet the chef and create a menu that their guests will truly enjoy. On the wedding day itself, couples are supported by me or my operations team—people they will already know—ensuring the perfect balance between attentive service and relaxed celebration. What sets us apart from larger venues is this personal touch. By the end of the day, we know every guest and welcome them into our home for the night. The following morning, our family breakfast gives everyone a chance to reflect on the day before, celebrating the wonderful memories that were made.
