Sorry mods, ive looked for other topics like this but there werent any that answered my question...

Basically, I dont like my arms, although since going swimming twice a week, im getting toned shoulders. I just have mahoosive bingo wings!

Anyway, my dress is strapless (pic on profile) - i have a gorgeous veil to wear during the service (church wedding) but i dont want to be wearing the veil all night but am conscious of my arms..

I am thinking of buying a really simple organza shrug which is the same colour and design as my veil.. organza lined with ivory satin... its very simple but im worried that having this and a veil might be too much.. is anyone else wearing both? xxx

How long is your veil? I don't think it will be too much really and as you are only wanting to wear the veil for the church anyway it is only a small part of the entire day and you need to feel comfortable with how you look. I am thinking of getting one too as I don't like my arms, but I am not having a veil, just a flower hair comb. Go for it! xx

My veil is past my elbows, i might just wear the veil for the ceremony, then the shrug for the party, then my arms will be covered at all times! :) x

I intend to wear a cathedral length veil, and getting married in a catholic church I think it won't be enough, as I remember when I went to Italy, we had to fully cover the top bit of arms and shoulders and back, my dress being strapless I will get a lace bolero about elbow length, unless the priest agrees me not wearing any but I doubt it, so I would say NO it is not too much, just do as you feel.

I found that my veil covers my arms so I'm going to use that for the service and photos then if I wear a shrug later I will take my veil off. I'm still undecided though.

Glad I found this thread. I'm having the same problem. Can I wear a veil with my bolero? I have a fake fur bolero and a satin bolero and I will decide on the day day which one to wear but will a veil be to much?

I think it would depend what it looks like on the day, A fur bolero might look too bulky with a veil too but a satin one would look nice and would complement the veil i think :)

I'm gonna wear a satin bolero and a veil as a satin bolero will look like part of the dress xx

Well I'm waering a 3/4 sleeve bolero as I have minging elbows (skin psorosis) so wanted them covered. I never wanted a veil so that wasn't a problem for me, but I did decide to have all my hair up as worried that my hair down in a fancy style might look too much from the back.

I think it's probably personal choice.

    :-)

As it may well be fairly chilly in the evening I am getting a long sleeved fur shrug/jacket, but then I am not wearing a veil, just a tiara.
