    Hi Ladies,

When my H2B bought my engagement ring he wasn't offered insurance, however I really want to insure my ring and wondered if anyone could recommend an insurer. I've searched online for personal belongings insurance but they all link to contents insurance but I live with my parents so don't need this. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place. xxx

I'm not an expert, but it seems to me that it does link in with contents insurance - ie the security of your home and the area in which you live gives the insurance company an idea on how likely it is to be stolen.

If it's the only way to do it, you could ask your parents to ring their insurance company and see how much extra it would be to add your ring as a one-off valuable - you could always pay the extra if necessary.

You can ask your parents to out the ring on their contents insurance. You would have to get it valued first though x

It's valued already Em, I have a certificate too for insurance purposes which is a bonus. I think this may be the easiest option, I'll speak to the lovely parents tomorrow. Thanks ladies. xxx

Thanks hun. It's just one of those things you never get around to doing and then it's too late when you do need it. xxx
