So OH and I really want to get our rings inscribed on the inside but have no idea what to have put! We don't want something that's used all the time but have no imagination whatsoever to think of something else - is anyone else getting inscriptions done?
CommentAuthorkerriface
We were thinking of our nicknames for each other as the idea will have been done before but I doubt many women are walking around with my special k written on their wedding ring!

Have you got a favourite saying, a line from a song or poem that reminds you of him or you could just put the date and your nicknames to each other???
did you see the dttb episode where she put "now put it back on" inside his ring??? I thought that was brillant hehehe

Not sure if this counts but Peter is having our wedding date in roman numerals on his ring. On the outside though!
I was thinking of having 'always' on mine as I am a huuuuge Harry Potter fan!
Got married 27th June and blessed on July 5th 2012

we have "nothing else matters" engraved inside our wedding rings. Its the title of our first dance song, a song that is special to the both of us and really rather relevant we though.

We didn't have anything done on ours, but my friend who is getting married on 15 Dec has had 15.12.11 F&L inscribed on the inside of the grooms ring. Hx

We get some VERY interesting requests! We always advise customers to avoid 'jokey' inscriptions. They may be funny now but the might not seem that way in 30 years time. We've done engraving in Chinese, Gaelic, Russian Cyrillic Script, Elvish! Klingon! and loads of other languages.
Italian is always popular - such things as "Ti Amo" (I love you); Sempre e per Sempre (Always and forever); Insieme per Sempre (Together Forever).
Good Old Romantic French - Notre amour ne finira jamais (Our Love will Never End); For my Love (Pour mon Amour)
We also get inscriptions in 'code' - "1 4 3 TF" - "I Love You Together Forever"
The most gobsmacking request was "You are the Pork in my Pie"
Interpret that however you like. Suffice to say they weren't butchers!
The most popular request is simplt the names and wedding date : "Michael & Laura 11.11.11"
By the way - Please don't tell me our translations are wrong - we simply put in what we are asked for, although we do advise if we think there's an error

Hi Mrs Man. I'm sorry but we wouldn't be able to engrave on any other makers rings.
One problem is that it could invalidate your guarantee so please check with them before you get it engraved elsewhere.
I would recomend you speak to a small independant jeweller in your locality.

I like you are the pork in my pie!
You are the fish to my chips You are the beans to my toast You are the chocolate chips to my cookie
There's a song called You're the chocolate end to my cornetto :-)
We haven't even talked about this yet but I like things along those lines.

I'd like to get My Nakama in Mikes ring,
Its a Japanese term that cant be directly translated into english but is often used to discribe "my most precious Person"
although its generally used to describe more that 1 person, for example your family and friends would be your Nakama,

I would like our wedding date inscribed inside the rings with our initials, we're getting married on the same date we got together so its significant already without it being our wedding date as well

I got 22.07.11 engraved on hubby's engagement ring, I wanted to make it specific as an 'engagement ring' rather than a wedding band and that was the date we got engaged. The band on my engagement ring is very tiny and would be impossible to get engraved but I think that for the wedding bands we'll do something quirky. We call each other 'Cub' (He affectionately referrs to his parents as Mumma Bear and Papa Bear) so James is my Baby Bear - my cub! I was thinking about getting some animal footprints engraved for the wedding bands but I'm wondering if you'd actually be able to tell what they were!! x

I really love the line "the love you make is equal to the love you take". Its from The End on Abbey Road and it always makes me happy but its too long isnt it. I put it on our save the date cards and h2b said it was too cheesy :-(

Its a great line but fitting it inside a ladies ring, allowing for the hallmark and any settings for diamonds, it would be tiny.
You could always have in engraved around the outside of the ring along one edge. It would still be fairly small but would be readable close up. From a distance it would just look like a pattern.
For practical purposes its best to keep engraving on the inside of the ring down to an absolute maximum of 25 letters and spaces. We recomend 22 leters and spaces. For gents rings there is usually a bit more room because they have bigger fingers.

i wanted roman numerals on ours. but weve decided that were going to get matching tattoos instead now. and have our wedding date tattoo'ed going up our wedding ring finger. Personal taste i guess. Were happy with it tho.
