Hi Ladies (and gents out there), I am wanting some ideas please. For my favours I was wanting to give out a little pot of jam, a tea bag in a wrapper with a little poem and a handmade gift wrapped scone.
Now I have rethought this as although its a great idea and everyone I have spoken to love it I think its too much. Favours often get left and I don't want a load of boxes left at the end of the night and feel all my hard work has been for nothing.
Also, I don't think this suit men or children well either. So keeping with my vintage garden tea theme.... Favour ideas which would suit men, women and kids (don't have to be the same I love the idea of different favours for different genders!)

I think that is a great idea but I can see how it could be too much. How about the scone, the poem and a little packet of flower seeds for the women or a little ornamental watering can? ;)

Hi Mrs Malin, What a lovely idea however I am wanting the jam more than anything as we are having jam jars for table decorations so wanted the theme to run through like that. Is a small pot of jam with a sticker on enough though? ARGH!!!!!
I think the Jam idea is lovely and very personal, what about doing different flavoured infused Jams, maybe traditional for ladies, alcohol based for men and sweetie based for kids? not even sure it is possible to do lol just a random idea that popped into my head haha x

Hi MarkS. It completely depends how you do it. To have the scones made by cake maker and wrapped it would be 75p a scone. The pots of jam are working out at about 20p a pot (I will then be buying personalised stickers) and the tea bags will be cheap as I'm not going to be buying special teas or anything. Then the boxes are about 20p a box.

It does sound like a lot. Not in a bad way but in a logistical way; as a wedding guest I'd be thinking how am I going to take this with me. If I didn't eat it during the meal/speech's there's a good chance I'd leave it behind as I'd have nowhere to put it.
Just a mini jam jar would be a lot easier to manage & take home.

If youre wanting to keep it simple i think just the jam is perfect. I agree with whats been said, some may get left behind as women may not take little bags so theres not much room to take things home? X

I may look at getting some spoons to go with them also.

If I got Jam, a scone and a tea bag I would be made up! I think it's a fab idea. But having said that, cost is an issue. And if I got a little jar of jam, I'd also be really pleased! What a lovely idea. I don't think you need to worry about it not being enough. And I think no matter what you give, it won't be to everyone's taste and some people will leave it behind. Their loss, get a family member to scoop up the left over pots of jam at the end and you can share them amongst the family.

Hi Dawn, I have found a place online that does 20 100g pots for £27 (£1.35 a pot).

Pesonally i think its lovely, but theres a high chance people will leave some of the scones behind and i would be gutted if i went through all that work just for them to be left. i think the jam without the scone would be enough. how about maybe including a little short cake biscuit? x

I'm having, personally, the same favours for men, women and kids, there shouldn't be too many kids anyway. Mine are a jar of honey, a jar of rhubarb and ginger jam and a jar of sugared almonds (mini jars!). They're fairly safe as they can always give them to people they know if they won't personally use them, so they can literally spread the love! And any left over, I certainly will not be averse to taking home and using!
Scones are a really unique idea... will they be freshly baked? Make sure you leave enough time to do them and contingency time too. You could offer the ones that are left the next day to somebody local that may appreciate them, such as an elderly neighbour or something??
And we lived happily ever after!
