i really hate my brother in law to be's girlfriend. she is a horrible, contolling, selfish person who is two faced, but i have no choice but to invite her. i know no matter what i try and do she is going to try and spoil it for me and htb. as it stands its me who is organising my htb stag do, because if it was left to his brother (the best man) they would only be allowed 30 mins at local pub on her say so. she thinks that she is going to be invited to my hen do.......not a chance!!!! i am trying to arrange a seating plan, but i know she will just moan and argue about it because she will be left to look after her own kids throughout the meal/speeched etc, while htb' s brother is sat on the top table with us. she's a terrible mother who is happy to palm her kids off on any one and she sees them as an inconvenience when she has to have them by herself and takes it out on the kids (particularly the eldest son who has muscular dystrophy and probably has only 10 years left to live) which i dont want the kids to get shouted at all day because of our wedding. i'm hoping she is not gonna tell my htb that his brother wont be coming to the wedding if she gets too angry about things (which she probably will). sorry for the rant guys, i just cant talk to anyone i know about this cus i dont know who'll go running back to tell her what i have said and my htb is sick of hearing me moan about her. i'm really hoping she wont cause trouble for us, i just feel helpless cus she has to be invited.

she is horrible hun. there are not many people that like her in my family or my htb's family either. i feel like i am being really nasty, but she has just done too many bad things for me to see her as anything more than horrid. she's sold her kids toys to get extra money, shes constantly got bailiffs coming round after not paying rent, but spending money in the pub......the list is endless. i havent got a clue what my htb's brother sees in her. we've bailed them out too many times to remember and i have really had enough. i may just put her with my father in law to be, she may be less inclined to be nasty to the kids then.
CommentAuthormrsquinn2b
What a horrible situation she has put you in! It's your special day, why should she make you feel this down in the dumps about it all. She sounds horrible, and also sounds like she is very jealous!
This might sound horrible, but does she have to bring the children in the day? If you feel that she is going to be shouting throughout the meal and speechs? Or is there someone other than your brother in law to help hher with the children? but i ould make it very clear that she is not on the top table through out the day.
Sorry you have been put in this horrible situation hunni. Chin up xxxx

thank you all x. a kids table sounds good, she acts like one, lol. i'm sure i'll sort it somehow. maybe by asking her to leave when ive had enough. or maybe get my family to keep her in check telling her to shut up til she gets the message. i'm hoping that my htb's brother stands up for himself for a change if she asks him to choose her or us.
CommentAuthorMrsKisywisy
do you think any of your bridesmaids could keep her in check throughout the day?? you could make that their task

we'll probably have to keep the date of the stag do a secret from her, kisywisy. she'll sabotage it otherwise. my htb will just have to pop round saying he needs some diy help or something so he can get out without her. and yes the kids wii that they got last christmas was sold and her eldest son got a dsi for his bithday 2 weeks later she sold it to get the money for the rent before they were evicted. its a joke, my htb's brother works all week and she just wastes all the money.

I had a similar problem with Chris's younger brothers GF. Since day 1 we didn't get along, she never made the effort to chat to us, stopped Mark (Chris's brother) drinking and doing this with us and his friends. He became totally quiet and controlled by her.
We gave up and just accepted her for the k n o b head she is but said on no accounts will she be attending our wedding. We are having a small wedding so could get away with saying immediate family only and no BF's/GF's without causing problems and as it will be abroad we thought we would just have to have her at the reception but we got the best news ever last week... They have split up for good :-)) Its b l o o d y fantastic as we're going back to the UK on Wednesday and would be staying with Chris's family so just knowing her smug little face isn't going to be around just makes going back oh so much more bearable!
Fingers crossed your H2B's brother sees sense to and gets shot of her, its such a weight off our shoulders x
CommentAuthoralimarie05
congrats ema, knowing exactly how you were feeling and how you feel knowing they've split up must feel great. yes she's one of those that sits there with a smug grin as if shes so much better then everyone else. i'm glad you can enjoy your wedding without any hassle from her now. i wish i didnt have to invite her, but i really have no choice :( little_88 oooohhhhh naughty but soooooo funny!!!!! you ladies are all great support. thank you all x

I think we all know someone like that though, There are 2 women at my son's school who are like it and they are sisters. One time, one of them came out of the same school entrance as me and my friend, right behind us, when she normally goes out the main entrance and she said to her 6 year old daughter in a not-so-quiet voice "Next time, we are going out the front way, this is the way the s.c.a.b.s go"!!!!! We were shocked so I confronted her and asked if I was a s.c.a.b and she denied calling me a s.c.a.b saying she didn't say me!!! Can't imagine how awful the thought of dealing with someone like that on my WEDDING day would be!!! Sympathies for you hun. xxx
CommentAuthoralimarie05
thanks hun, i think i'm just gonna get my family to keep a watchful eye on her throughout the entire day, no doubt there'll be lots of photos with her scowling face on them so when it comes to the family photos she'll not be included :) there are some nasty people around who think they're better then everyone when really they probably are just jealous of everyone else so they put people down to make them feel better. she wouldnt bother me so much if it wasnt for the kids, she treats them so badly and you just cant help but feel sorry for them.
CommentAuthorCeCe
I would put her with the strictest, no nonsense guests you have...then any bitching, moaning, griping etc etc is likely to a) avoided b) put a stop too.
Invite the skank but interact only when necessary to be polite. Let ALL know about her previous antics so they are forewarned..if she gets picked up on negative behaviours then she is less likely to be prat. Organise a chucker outter or 4 if she kicks off...
CommentAuthoralimarie05
it'll be a bit like normal life then hun. if we are in the same room together its usually just silent and awkward, lol. everyone knows what shes like already, she is just "tolerated" amongst the htb's family because of the kids. i'm having a go at a seating plan soon so i should have some fun :) thanks hun x

CommentAuthorPossum
To be honest, I'd just say she's not welcome! I'm maybe in a mood today though... xxx
CommentAuthoralimarie05
remind me never to cross you kimi, lol. its awful when your in a no win situation, you try and be nice its thrown i your face, you dont be nice its you thats wrong. she knows she's not welcome just enjoying making me feel uncomfortable. i'm just trying to think of all the things she can do to annoy me on the big day so i am prepared for it all. one thing i know she'll try and do is try and out do my flower girl with the dresses. i think shes got the face on cus her little girl isnt a flower girl for us, so i'm not letting her see the dresses or accessories. all she knows is our colour scheme. might tell her a few white lies to throw her off :)
CommentAuthorPossum
Sorry, but can I ask why she has to go? If she can't behave then she shouldn't be invited. It is your day, and even if you make her really angry and cause a rift, its her fault! xxx
CommentAuthoralimarie05
because if she doesnt go then htbs brother wont be allowed and he's the best man. its sounds daft saying hes not allowed when he's 37 years old, but he's not allowed to do anything without her permission and she usually has to go everywhere except work with him. and then she'll stop him seeing my htb completely making it all our fault. he's lost all his friends but 1 and even his girlfriend doesnt go up because she doesnt like her either. i think this is the excuse she has been waiting for to stop my htb and his brother seeing eachother. they used to be so close seeing each other all the time, popping to the pub for a pint after work etc, now they dont even see each other for more than 2 hours a week. (we only live round the corner!!!!). i cant believe htb's brother lets her so this. we just keep hoping he'll see sense one day.
CommentAuthorPossum
Oh my goodness! I'm shocked, and angry on your behalf. I'm so sorry that she is making you go through that. She should just go away and let other people be happy xxxxxx

just a little update - they came round to ours tonight, she sat there as miserable as ever got the face on again. its my htb fathers 60th bithday next sat and he's having a big party in chapel st leonards, skegness. we've all got somewhere to stay (we booked our family hols the same week) but she doesnt want to go and is stamping her feet saying she is not going. the brother in law really wants to go and says he's going on his own...............we shall see. she's never let him anywhere on his own for the past 8 years is she really gonna start now? i doubt it. i cant believe she's being this nasty as to try and stop him from going to his own dads 60th birthday. in a way i'm glad that she wont be staying in our caravan, but i was willing to put up with her for one night on behalf of my father in law to be, he'd love having both of his sons there for him. anyway, my htb says he will be very cross if he doesnt put his foot down and go, but where does that get him??????
CommentAuthorSuzi
It might finally make your H2B notice what you have been saying about her all this time!! I really hope he put's his foot down and goes to the party on his own, surely he wouldn't miss his own dads 60th? Also I would NOT invite her to your wedding, I would pre-warn your BIL2B before you say anything to her though.. It's a shame because I am sure if she is not invited she won't allow the children to go either, but as for BIL2B he is 37 years old and should grow a pair and tell her straight that whether she likes it or not he is going to his own brother's wedding and like it or lump it!!! If she does have to go I would take her to one side and threaten her that if she so much as says one thing out of place, looks in the wrong direction or even breathes when she is not meant to, that you will take her to the nearest woods, tie her to a tree and beat her with a bit of 4 x 2 or if you think that is a tad harsh lol you could always just tell her that if she spoils your day or even the build up to your big day then you will make it your life's ambition to make her life a living hell. Women like her make me sick!!! You want me to tell her hun??? Cos I would gladly take her to one side and have a word in her ear!!! I think I should stop now as I am proper winding myself up just thinking about her!!!!
Maybe you could make up a false FB account and send her messages saying her boyfriend has been having an affair, you would be doing him a favour cos with a bit of luck she will ditch him and you won't have to worry about her being there... NO!! A bit much??? OK I will shut up and go away lmao!!
Do not disturb... Already disturbed enough!

Spike her drink with lactoc and she will have 2 go home lmao that would be a good way get rid of her sounds evil but would make ur day a lot happier hunny. Hope everything works out hunny :)

CommentAuthoralimarie05
thanks all, i'll have to let you know if BILTB goes to their dads 60th birthday or not, will find out friday. if you girls knew her you wouldnt think you were being harsh, ive never met anyone like her!!!!! and i get wound up just talking about her too and as for karma i must be on par with the devil some of the thoughts in my head, lol. my htb tells be not to waste my time thinking about it, but its easier said then done. i love some of the ideas you girls have been coming up with esp the fb one, but i couldnt do it. shes pregnant at the moment with her 3rd child her way of trying to keep him. if she doesnt let BILTB go to his dads birthday i might not even have this problem cus we may not be taliking to them if she stops him going. she could do the same thing to us days before the wedding so we're left without a best man!!!!! i might try to get HTB to get someone else, it'll solve a lot of problems. just dont think he's gonna be as easy to convince.
