Hi im looking for artifical flowers for my bridesmaids and tables but i cant seem to find the right shade has anyone had success at dying their flowers? And secondly my children are from a previous relationship and me and my fella have always got on with their grandparents on his side would it be terribly rude of me to invite them to my reception so when the time comes the children can go to theres for the weekend? thanks girls x

Have no idea about the flowers I'm afraid! But as for inviting the ex, if you're happy to then there's no reason why you shouldn't - I'm not against inviting ex's in general, just my h2b's ex lol

No - it's me misreading it with having ex's on the brain this evening lol! I still don't see that it would be a problem to invite them though x

You could ask if someone could do it professionally for you? I'm sure there must be companies that do it?x

I think it would be fine if both you and your H2B are happy with them being there and also if they are having the children then it seems like a win / win! Most florists that have artificial flowers can match them to your design but it depends whether you want real or artificial. We are having artificial as H2B and my Dad both have severe hayfever so decided that it would be for the best and I have been told I can get pretty much any flower in any colour :D xx

i think they would be quite flattered that u asked them, although i dont know if they would go or not, they might feel a bit awkward seeing u marry someone else, or they may love to see u marry someone else, u know them best so do what feels right for u. i dont think its cheeky at all though, they might even offer to take the kids b4 u have to ask anyway! good luck with that x

as for the flowers melody has someone doing hers and they r gorgeous, and silk ones but look completely real, maybe ask her for her details? x

were having all artficical flowers apart from mine because mine are going on grandpas grave, every green one i see is lime or bright green, lol, im not thinking i might get ivory flowers with either a hunter grren tint or with green jewels in them, me and the H2B both agree its a good idea to ask them, and the kids gran has said shed be happy to come (grandad works weekends so will have to book it off) theres no bad blood between me and their grandparents we go every weekend and talk most evenings so i dont think it would be a huge issue just wanted input as to if the girls on here thought it was cheeky, lol, thank you xxx

well im sure they would love 2 be there then! smiles all round lol not cheeky at all.

do u have ur flowers sorted yet? r u trying to match the real ones to the artificial or the other way round? in my opinion its prob best to match the artificial ones to the real as they can be made practically any colour, but then as u said u could have ivory with green accents from jewels/ribbon etc to tie it all together, good luck x

mine are Ivory gladioli they are simple and gorgeous and my grnadad always grew them for me and put them in my hair every year so there was no other opition in my mind for my wedding flowers, they are just going to be 7stems of gladioli tided with a hunter green ribbon, so the others im not sure about i wanted lotus for my table decorations, and the corsages for the bridesmaids i have no idea i guess they will have roses or something similar, i would have lutus for them but i think it might be to big a flower to wear, =) the artifical ones im flexible on just mine im not moving on! lol xx
