Hi all, I'm stuck and with 10 months to go I think I need a theme for my wedding! So far I've just gathered stuff I like etc, but whilst I have colours I don't have a theme, which I'm rapidly realising would make future shopping etc a lot easier! So far my dress is ivory and the bridesmaid will be in a teal green (like a turquoisy green) and she's very tanned as she's coming over from Malaysia. So I was thinking flowers wise to get a few colours in, like pink/white liles, some yellows and some green, but meeting with a florist in a couple of weeks. The reception is in a big greenhouse which is full of tropical plants etc so I was thinking along the lines of summer, tropics etc. I was thinking colours could be the teal, silver and ivory with some golden yellow and bright pink. My cousin is making me cupcakes for centrepieces so I'm just thinking brightly coloured frosting etc - and I went crazy at a closing down sale and have 78 clear glass tea light holders to put on the tables as I figured they'd go with anything!

I have a couple of flowers on my dress, and lots of sparkles, so was thinking of doing the sparkly thing with crystals on the tables, but am now undecided as to whether I should go down the tropics route and have flowers or maybe even butterflies in there too - argh so many choices! We're having bamboo style chairs too so I don't need to worry about coloured sashes, but I've just got to a point where I'm stuck! If we do have crystals, do I stick to clear ones as they're safe and on white table linen, or do we get coloured ones?

Is 'bright summer colours' even a theme? Or do I need to have a specific shape in there too like butterflies or flowers etc? Aargh!!

P.S. The H2B has no idea either, he's just happy I'm sorting it all out and doesn't have any preference on flowers, colours or butterflies either!

We don't have a theme! Personally, I don't think you need one, but it's only my opinion. We're getting married in Vegas and having a reception back here a month afterwards, which will be a very informal, low-key affair. We've got feathers in vases instead of floers and my bouquet is crystals and feathers as we can't take flowers all the way over the Vegas. We've got scatter crystals in the colours (silver, ivory and midnight blue) to put on the tables but apart from that, it's all very informal and no sign of a theme. Hx

i would definitely go for bright colours! If it were me I'd be going crazy with the colours - I absolutely love bright colours. We're having aqua blue as the main colour with some fuschia, and the flowers are going to be fucshia, bright orange and yellow!
Go for it, bright and cheerful :o) xx

I didn't really have a theme at first but now we have a very vague one it's purple country inspired so now thts developed on to butterflies and flowers in purple as my theme we still got country in the sense I've got a hay bail wedding cake and wheat sheths on the tables but I've for purple table crystals and all sorts haha I just keep buying things which are purple. Thanks ladies!! Think I'll just call the theme 'summer brights' and stay away from flower/animal shapes and stick to coloured cupcakes, sweet trees and clear table crystals with glass tealights - and then just put a bright tropical looking flower arrangement on top table as there's only 6 of us on there - ta dahhh!!
